[ History ] :
...Says Oscar. [ Personality ] :
Due to his strange appearance, Snake is used to being on his own and distancing himself from other people. This leaves him with a rather stoic outer image. He's often very quiet, and seems to communicate primarily through his snakes. Most of his sentences end in "says Oscar", "is what Emily said", or similar, with each of his snakes seeming to have their own personalities. It's doubtful that Snake is using them only as methods of communication, however, or is showing some sort of mental disorder like dissociative identity disorder. It's quite likely, given his level of control over them, that Snake honestly does understand his companions and is relaying information from them.
However, beneath this quiet and serious appearance, Snake is in all truths quite shy. He has had extremely bad experiences with other human beings in his past, and is very self conscious of how others view him. If someone, like the Circus or Ciel, shows him kindness and support, he quickly becomes extremely loyal and caring of them. He will go to great lengths to protect them, or, in the worst case scenario, will even attempt to murder those who have done his loved ones' harm.
Snake is not used to being in positions of leadership, and seems to not like them. He's a follower, which explains how easily he adapted to following Sebastian's lead when he was admitted as a footman for the Phantomhive estate.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Communication with Animals: While it seems at first improbable, Snake seems to be able to communicate with his namesake extremely well. In turn, they are very fond of him and listen to his directions obediently. In many cases, Snake does not even have to say a word for them to do what he wishes, such as attacking or restricting other individuals.
Stealth: In two occurrences, Snake has shown to be very stealthy, appearing almost out of nowhere when he judges the moment to be right.
Human: Despite his very odd appearance and relation to snakes, Snake himself is nothing more than human. If you stab him, he'll bleed. There are no fancy powers for him to use, or ancient relics of power.
Gullibility: When it comes to people Snake cares about, he'll think nothing less than highly of them. Not once did he suspect the other first tier members were doing anything horrible, or that Ciel may be lying to him. Once someone earns his trust, Snake subconsciously turns a blind eye to anything bad they might do.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Snake carries about him at least nine snakes, all of them named. (Wordsworth, Emily, Goethe, Oscar, Wilde, Webster, Bronte, Dan, Keates). That's only the named ones.
Needless to say, they'll be appearing with Snake when he makes his entrance to Vatheon.
[ Sample ] :
"...It looks strange, says Bronte."
He murmurs the words to himself as he stares in the mirror, fingers spread across his chest and the neatly pressed vest he now wears. Not once would he ever imagine himself in this sort of outfit. It's too... clean. Neat. Expensive. It doesn't seem to fit on his body properly, or fit in with the color of his skin. It doesn't fit at all. Not like the circus clothes did.
For a moment, his heart sinks.
Then he becomes aware of the weight that's crawling up his legs and twining around his arms. Snake feels himself calm as his friends curl around him, from his shoulders to his neck to his waist. Emily flicks a forked tongue against his cheek, and Dan takes his proper place behind his ear. Taking a deep breath, Snake runs his fingers across their scales. There. Now his reflection is much more familiar in the mirror.
