I know Florida's regulations about emancipation, but they're probably different in Iowa. First, you and your parent must sign some paper agreeing that you'll be emancipated (with reasons why you're trying to become emancipated). Once you're emancipated, you'll be put into a group home (I'm not sure if they'll let you stay with Matt, but they might). There are also some classes that you may have to take. In Florida, it was called "Independent Living". But like I said, I'm not too sure how the system works in Iowa.
Also, for Florida, it mandated that the person being emancipated had to spend at least 6 months in foster care. But I highly doubt that it's the same way in Iowa. Stupid Florida.
