Self-Heating Coffee Follow-up

Aug 18, 2005 09:43

For those of you who wanted to know my thoughts about the coffee from my last post, here's my review.

The self-heating process works great. It heats just like it promised and stayed hot for 20 minutes or so. It stayed warm for a full hour. It would be especially great for soup. According to what I've read, soups and hot chocolate are slated to be released sometime this fall. After that, the plan is for baby formula and sake.

The coffee itself is pretty good. It is a bit sweet for my tastes, but then I like my coffee strong, with cream and no sugar. I also don't care for flavoured coffee, so I'm not even going to try the French Vanilla, Mocha, or Caramel flavours they have. But I do like it better than office coffee. It's not something I'd grab when I'm in the mood for an awesome cup of gourmet coffee, but it is definitely something I plan to keep on hand for cold Workshop mornings. I'll probably keep a couple in the office, too, for when I want something better than what the break room serves.
