I'm normally fine with the blood and gore, and will happily munch on spaghetti with meatballs while hell hounds disembowel people. It's just that I didn't expect the cannibalism. Yeesh. Cupid is a dick.
Watching Supernatural (especially that episode) while eating? Bad plan.
Watching ANY episode of Bones (especially the recent ones... the gross out factor just keeps getting upped...) while eating? REALLY bad plan. <-- Yeah. We did that the other day.
And I'm so glad you discovered (and liked) Sherlock! I'm eagerly awaiting more episodes...
I kind of gave up on Bones after I felt like all the characters were turning into negligibly-flawed Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Not everyone can be the most brilliant person in their field, etc.
Sherlock is great. I tend to love anything Martin Freeman is in, but more than that, I was and am a huge fan of the original Sherlock Holmes stories (with the usual disclaimers about weak characterization and Agatha Christie being completely right about the limits of forensics alone). The level of attention to detail in these stories is right up there with Peter Jackson in LotR, though I am frustrated less with Sherlock than I was with the LotR movies. It's clear Moffat and company love the stories and it's so much fun to watch.
