Just because... here's some music I've been listening to a lot this month. Some of it is new, some not so much:
Beach House - Walk In The Park (It's odd and sexy. Like fucking while stoned.)
Vampire Weekend - Cousins (Duh. It's the only cool thing left in the world that's even slightly associated with the word vampire.)
Mos Def - Quiet Dog Bite

Awesome collection, will have to download these when my internet isn't wonky. Also, OMG the song that uses one of my favorite Shangri-Las songs = AUTOWIN.

ha, I *KNEW* you'd like that song! And the Camera Obscura one I think you're gonna dig too. lol, I've no idea why this post ended up being so retro.

Teen Dream is something I am definitely going to look into more! I really like the style.
I heard Vampire Weekend for the first time a couple of weekends ago, and I have mixed feelings. I think they're slowly growing on me, though. :)
I am completely ignorant of Mos Def, but this song made me want to shake my booty!
I totally agree with your comment about Spoon. "Gimme Fiction" was my first major exposure to them, and I fell in love. Then when I started exploring more of their music, I was disappointed. :(
Love Camera Obscura.
Nneka is new to me, but I'm lovin' it!
The other two songs were wonderful as well.
I have never heard of box.net before! Fun!

And yeah, I think people have been making maybe too big a deal about Vampire Weekend since their first album came out a couple years ago, but I really do think that they're a super fun party band.
And I really love Mos Def. Though I bet you do know him, but as an actor than a rapper. I bet if you saw him you'd be all OOOOOHH HIM!
Aw, Spoon. I had a passing familiarity with them before then, but I remember seeing them at Coachella when Gimme Fiction came out (2005? Maybe?) and just falling COMPLETELY in love with them. That album is, for me, one of my all-time favorites, it's just perfect. So yeah, none of their later stuff can really compare, but it's still pretty good.
ha, yeah, I like that site, I've had an account there for ages. I like that there aren't any ads and I don't feel like people are spying on my up/downloads. Oh, and I have the full albums that those tracks are from, so if you want any more, just let me know. :)

OH and I realize I made a typo - the ALBUM is teen dream, the artist is Beach House (lol, just in case you were having a hard time finding them!)
