To The Golden CompassI am saddened to say that I was disappointed by this movie. It's my favorite trilogy and I just feel that it wasn't done justice. They didn't fully strip away the anti-religious sentiments as I had feared, so that wasn't the issue, it was just... choppy. Nothing about this movie flowed. There was never a breather

Think it would be worth renting for someone (me) who didn't read the book - or even know it was an adaptation until recently? I know the book will always be better, but the trailers I've seen have looked good...

Hmm, maybe, but it's really just not put together well. Once it takes off, it never stops running to breath. If that makes sense. That's what's wrong with it. It's choppy and flies around A LOT!

I haven't read but the books but it's curious to check them out and the movie.

Of course, I'll have to wait till it's on DVD.

not at all! It's a little weird.

The last movie we went to in the theater was back in september or august.

We might start taking turns on going out so we're both not stuck at home.
