You lay the baby on it, cross the "straps" in front, and button it closed in back. Tah dah! Baby jacket/vest/sweater with no pulling-it-over-the-head. Perfect for Florida... warm enough to keep their torso from getting chilled, but not so heavy as too overheat the wee tyke.

I like the shades of black and grey: It won't show dirt. I'd have to see it on an actual infant to visualize how it's supposed to go, though.
