Christmas is when miracles are supposed to happen. Those who are good will receive gifts for their kindness. Those who are bad will receive nothing but a lump of coal to remind them of their evil deeds. Wishes are supposed to be granted. It's supposed to but it doesn't always happen.
"I wish to find love."
Changmin exhaled a deep breath and looked up at the night sky. The city below was asleep. Most people would be at 4:14 AM.
"That's a waste of a wish."
Changmin spun around and glared at his roommate.
"Fuck Kibum! Quit being so quiet. You could have given me a heart attack."
"But then you wouldn't find love. Your stubbornness won't let you die that easily."
"What's wrong with you today? Did your girlfriend cheat on you or something?"
"No. I broke up with her."
"Then shouldn't she be the one that's emo?"
"We broke up for a week or two now."
"Oh."
"For a roommate you suck at knowing about what's going on in my life."
"So? I don't care. You pay your half of the rent and keep your stuff in it's place and I'm happy."
"Yet you wish for love."
"Nothing wrong with wishing. Plus what's wrong with love? It can make a person happy. They have this glow around them that obviously from being in love."
"It's not that great."
"And what do you know about love, Mr. I-only-date-a-girl-for-2-weeks?"
"More than you'll ever know Mr. I'm-a-virgin-and-I'll-still-be-one-when-I-die."
"Shut up! I want my first time to be with someone I care about and not to have sex with some stranger and then regret it later." Changmin glared at Kibum. He honestly doesn't know why he has to have him for a roommate. Of all the people in the world, it just had to be a player who is a total asshole. The only thing he's good for is paying his half of the rent on time.
"Yeah."
Changmin was shocked by that answer. He hadn't actually expected Kibum to agree with him. He wasn't hoping for anything really. He looked at Kibum from the side and wondered if there could be more to the player than he lets on.
"You've been in love then?"
"Not really but yes."
"So you are in love?"
"Yeah."
Changmin thought over what Kibum had said. He didn't understand how he could be in love and not be happy or seem to care at all.
"Who are you in love with?"
"Why do you care?"
"I don't. I just want to know who could have caught a player's heart."
"If you don't care then there's no point in telling you, even if it's to fill your curiosity."
Kibum didn't even look at Changmin. He turned around and walked back inside the apartment. Changmin glared after the other, seeing him going into his room with the door shut behind him.
"It doesn't hurt to open up a little you asshole."
Rolling his eyes, Changmin turned his attention back towards the night sky. He doesn't know why he even tried. Kibum's not going to change. Besides, who is he to care.
