how do i make a white background transparent in photoshop, ive totally forgotten.

Well, if you are opening a new workspace you can just select transparent instead of white in a scrolldown. If you are already working on something, I always just create a new layer and drag it to the bottom, and then delete the old solid white background. Hope that helps!
