Finding your bliss/Writing in the spare moments

This is the secret to fitting writing in: Write in your spare moments, especially if you have "spare" moments that occur the same time every day -- a smoke break, lunch, etc. Some folks even write during their 2-5 mins in the restroom each day (I don't do this, and nor do I particularly recommend it -- this is just an example of how far you can go ( Read more... )

Sadly, while I agree with this in principle, in practice it hasn't worked very well for me. Mostly because my natural inclination is that I want to write for about three to five hours at a time. So the 30 minute smoke break just never worked very well for me.

And it comes down to trying to find/make those three to five units of time, and that ain't easy.

Fair enough, everyone works differently. Sometimes the same person works differently on different days.
