Well, I’ve done it. I know about Carol :) I am currently most concerned about how they generated ideas for the scripts, and, while she provided many on-the-spot improvements while things were being shot, she was not typically part of the writing teams or the sketch review sessions, and wasn't involved in Gilliam's animations -- at leas not to my knowledge; she hasn't been mentioned at those in Palin's diary.

I agree she was a critical part of the performance aspect of Python, and that TV and movies are a performance medium -- as Palin says, you can do three takes of the same material and play it almost identically, and two of them just aren't funny, but the third is hysterical. So she was DEFINITELY an important figure. Just more interested in the writing and idea generation right now.
