Tonight I went to check out the roller disco at the Renaissance Rooms in Vauxhall along with some of the girls I've met who are starting the new intake in a little over a week (eek!). London Rollergirls aren't the only derby league in London. Back in December I went to a bout hosted by the London Rockin' Rollers, in Bethal Green. Their home teams were playing, Goldie Looking Chain Gang vs The Neanderdolls. I spent a fair bit of time thinking of what skates I should get, before I'd even allocated any money for derby gear. I decided my derby budget was what I'd get from selling my bass guitar. Before xmas I had got in touch with the organiser of the rec league and she'd said that she was happy for me to start to learn skating with the next intake of new skaters, in February.
