Hey, I actually got a reply (and incredibly fast) from Van too when I e-mailed him asking what he did on Roger Nichols and the Small Circle of Friends album. I was like "Wow, I got an e-mail from a guy who wrote the lyrics to Surf's Up, and now he is writing these words to ME!" I know, corny. :)

haha, not at all, that's the exact same feeling i got! vdp is like my hero after brian, so i was walking around chuffed to bits all day after getting that. my friend emailed him like 4 years ago and told me he got a response, but i never had the guts to do it until recently. he's such a kind guy. i don't understand why people call him an 'asshole' all the time.
