Peace, though he longs for it, is more of a concept to him than reality. Something he experiences only fleetingly. Peace isn't something that someone like him can hold onto. How could he, being pacifist and murder in one? It's amazing that he doesn't rip himself in half with the dichotomy.
Only today, that actually happened. One killed, one tried to save. One has everything, one has nothing. Doesn't seem quite fair. But then the universe taught him long ago to never expect fair.
So once again, peace evades him and he goes on alone.
