I am a pretty pathetic person. Not only do I indulge in pubescent activities like wondering about the futility of life, the suffering of the human race and the purpose of art by listening to loud music, I also feel at home squished between sweaty fangirls, rendered deaf by screams and chaotic beats, barely able to stand on my ill-fitting raised shoes. Whatever force drove me away from Destiny's Child and in the arms of serious business (now more than 4 years ago!), it had a better view of my unreasonable, masochistic nature than I did myself...
But I just can't deny it; live music pushes every single button of mine like not even the most perfect piece of angsty twincest can.
To start with the bad news: the signing sessions for the bands taking part in the European leg of the Rockstar: Taste of Choas tour 2008 ended at 6 o'clock, an impossible deadline for the Amsterdam Three-Member MUCC Fanclub (being Paul, Emiliano and me), which had to travel for two hours to even get near the venue. Thus, I didn't get to cuddle Yukke, didn't get to spew crooked japanese at Tatsurou, didn't get to take a picture of Miya and didn't get to ignore the drummer ask for SatoChi's autograph. In fact, because they brought too few, I couldn't even buy a nice bandshirt.
Feel sorry for me.
But really, it was a great live! They played a solid, coherent set for a tiny, but - admit it - excited bunch of fans. We got a spot in front of the vocalist with only two rows of friendly, talkative people in front of us; I could see everything perfectly. My ears and feet actually held out fine this time.
Tatsurou was dressed up in the South Asian hippie clothing he likes to wear lately, with loose-fitting pants, a scarf around his waist and bare feet with polished toe nails and silver ankle jewelery. The others were wearing casually metro outfits, Miya's hardcore black make-up being the only really flamboyant feature of their look. Aside from some generic engrish MCing by Tatsurou, there was no interaction with the fans that needs to be mentioned here but they don't need that to get their message across.
This may or may not have been the setlist (songs are from Shion unless stated otherwise):
- Rancyuu (from Zekuu)
- Fukurou no Yurikago*
- Nuritsubusunara enji
- Shadan (from Houyoku)
- Shion*
- Fuzz
- Ageha*
When I first heard their newest song 'Ageha', I was disappointed. The song was too well-balanced, while the lyrics were too direct and the PV simply unprofessional. However... this was SO AMAZING live! Totally did not see that coming! I really enjoying listening to it a lot more now.

And I would like to emphasize that both during the trip and the concert I was in incredible company and would never have had as much fun without them <3 I'm glad my company had a splendid night as well.
