just because we call it "home" doesn't mean it really is.

Oh sure, when you're camping surrounded by this many people why not let your kid "cry it out". At 1am. For an hour.

Earplugs. I packed them both times I went to Pennsic. For the party next door. For the drum circle up the hill. For the loud band of warriors going off to battle at 8:00 a.m. (how is it morning already?!?). For the portapotty truck sucking out the privies too early in the morning. For my little-too-drunk-to-be-quiet camp mates.

Earplugs. Because yeah, I feel your pain.

I was wearing earplugs. >.< Still heard the screaming baby through them.

"TALONS! WAKE UP! IT'S TIME FOR WAAAAR" is my new least favorite thing to hear at 7:30-8am.

Same issue, different time - 5 am every. single. morning.

Ya yes the mother of the toddler that decided she needed to give her a bath, at 5AM, with unheated water.
I never blamed the kid for screaming her head off

So are neighbor feuds that involve deaths.

I'd complain to the parent and then whoever else you can.

If there is no "off switch", (a boob if nursing, pacifier, rubbing his back, whatever) and it happens every single night, then maybe he shouldn't be bright to Pennsic. I have a kid myself. I understand the occasional nightmare. But this kid is not an occasional night terror.

Just to be clear, it's not the crying for an hour that you object to, it's the parents sticking to the 'leave the baby alone until he/she cries herself to sleep' idea and refusing to go in and comfort the child, despite their being other people around trying to sleep - yes? Because that's snark-worthy; bitching about crying kids in general isn't.

You are correct. I understand kids cry, I've been there. It is the inconsiderate parenting I object to.
