I've been messing around with some modified source code engines, like DarkPlaces for Quake (Adds actual accelerated graphics and such) and eduke32 (has actual 3d models and improved lighting).

I have actually played around with eduke32 before . . . or maybe it was jduke. I can't remember, but it did add 3D models, add dynamic lighting, and give you the option for different resolutions. It was fun. Now they just need to make a port of something like that for Blood and I'll be happy as hell.

Gotta say, I never fooled around with DarkPlaces, but you have my attention. Perhaps I'll spend the few bucks, buy Quake through Steam, and download DarkPlaces. I haven't played the first Quake in a long time.
