I did my best to provide positive content, but it doesn't seem to have helped :-/

I'm not pleased with the people who decided to complain/snark; I'm also not thrilled with the people who decided to jump in to defend the downtrodden (regardless of whether they need/want defending). Oh, well.

It seems to have been a very Mercury Retrograde Pennsic for quite a few people. I got a similar response on the Bhakail list -- when asked for stories and highlights, virtually none of the populace responded. :(

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, this just wasn't a Magic Moments(tm) sort of Pennsic. There were some small successes, and pleasant slices of life, but nothing I felt like spotlighting anyplace but my own LJ :-)

It could also be that people don't want to toot their own horn and be seen as vain. That whole humility thing....

It may also be that such moments would be extremely hard to convey to the general public. If your Magic Moments largely consist of things like coming home late to find your household around the beautifully glowing embers of a campfire, or attending Mass at someone's vigil, or feeling safe enough to fall asleep in someone's camp three times before they said "Here is an escort; go home before you fall off the bench," or just waking up in the morning to realize you're at Pennsic -- the EK list is not interested in any of that stuff. (Not even the vigil Mass, because it wasn't an Easterner, and anyway you *know* some Public Nuisance would complain because we even mentioned it.)

Maybe time for your shire to forge a new link...

I get my kingdom's list in digest form. Top of the page has all the email topics. If none are of interest, I delete it. I delete a lot of them, mostly unread. Perhaps another alternative?
