I've been doing this unconsciously with my beer for years, moving the bottles from the fridge to the unheated garage when the seasons change. Works pretty darned well.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to link this to boiling_frog. It's a global warming comunity. I think they would dig this immensely.
