Appearance/PB:
uwahBhernnev is young and still very small - his head barely reaches the knee of a human of average height. He has two horns; the left one is broken from birth defect. His body isn't very developed, but his teeth and claws are sharp enough to successfully hunt down and kill smaller critters (birds, rats). He is not yet capable of flying and can only breathe fire in small doses with a lot of focus! His color varies between gold to mild orange depending on the lighting. His eyes are dark blue with lighter pupils. Despite being a reptile, Bhernnev's anatomy and body language is similar to a mammal's.

Character History: In a planet inhabited by dragons, Bhernnev Hryne (read Ber-Nev Reen) is the son of Ursa Nophabe (noh-fabay; mother) and Hryne Snwey (reen snei; father). Bhernnev has a long line of siblings born before him. His mother is a highly regarded member of the community in their home planet, fiercely protective of her babies. They bettuh be nothing but the best son. Bhernnev never met his father, leader of his own clan.
Bhernnev's early life was peaceful and pleasant. His mother was very caring, even despite his broken horn--a defect that some dragons would have considered good enough reason to have him disposed of. Bhern was quick to learn and a curious little thing, wandering away from his mother several times. His mother would always find him, though, bringing him back to their spot in the forest by his neck. Bhernnev's favorite thing to do became exploring and hunting for smaller creatures. His days would usually end with a new tale told my his mother. He would sleep under the cover of her wing, on grass or dirt.
It was just another day when Bhernnev came closer to hitting two months of life. Distracted by movement, he decided to wander into the deep forest once again. The sky had already started to get dark. As he realized he no longer wanted to be lost, he waited for his mother - but she did not find him. Instead he was found by a young adult male dragon that attempted to kill him. Just as he thought he had escaped, he was abducted by two strange figures with cages and weapons.
The following week was the worst of the dragon's life. Taken by black market traders that traveled the galaxy for rare findings, Bhernnev had been set to be one of their most valuable sales. The baby dragon was terrified and had no idea of what was happening. The smell of metal was ingrained into his mind as a Very Bad Thing. Any approach made to him locked up in the cage was returned with teeth, hisses and sparks of fire.
If someone asked him how he had escaped, Bhernnev wouldn't be able to remember. There was the clatter of cages as they unloaded - next thing he knew, he was running around in dirty streets lit up by colorful electricity. He was found in this dark metropolis by a human. A panicked, hostile dragon was taken into his arms and wrapped in a large jacket to yet another unknown place.
Turned out the human was a man named Cameron, traveling spaaaace with his sister and an android. Despite his kindness, Bhernnev's trust was very hard to earn. It was another full week before the dragon let anyone approach him again, taking space in whatever corner he could curl up in and threaten the space ship's passengers with bites and hisses. He eventually allowed Cameron and the others to approach him, developing a pet-like affection for him shortly after. As soon as both sides learned to communicate with one another, Bhernnev was promised a way back home. They'd have to learn where it was, first.
Seeing as the space ship was meant for deliveries across the universe, shipping crates and assorted objects in and out quickly became routine. Much like in his home planet, the dragon would wander around the crates until someone came to find him. One day, he hears music playing. Magical things happen when he finds the music box SPLOING the end
Personality:
Curious, innocent and impacient, Bhernnev is always seen climbing onto new places or exploring whatever surfaces he can cover. He has a young mind and many things to learn, but he can be quick on his feet and even quicker to learn. Dragons in his universe are excellent communicators and capable of learning virtually any language - it's their pride that gets in the way of actually acknowledging them with words. Bhernnev can pick up on practically any language if given the right starting points. He tends to associate objects to smell and density.
Bhernnev is used to getting what he wants, despite the adversities he's been through. He doesn't have ambitious desires to speak of - only regular, live meals and a comfortable place to rest on. He doesn't like to be picked up or held. The constricting sensation is all too familiar! The smell of metal is also associated to Bad Things, so someone with armor and weapons made out of it will be eyed with a lot of suspicion. Despite his usual cheerfulness and curiousity, Bhern can quickly switch into a whiny sad dragon until something causes a mood change.
As said before, Bhernnev's behavior is very similar to a mammal's. Let's think cats. He will curl up on himself and clean his claws; his primary defenses are scratching and biting. Surprises are usually returned with hissing and backing away. Once you earn his trust, though, he becomes very affectionate and loyal. As much as he enjoys anyone's company, Bhern will just as easily get distracted by shiny objects or movement in the corner of his eyes. His body has not yet developed enough to make him resistant to extreme atmospheric differences. If something is considerably smaller than him, he'll consider it edible until proven otherwise.
Extra:
Character Abilities: Flight (once he develops larger wings), breathing fire, enduring high temperatures
Possessions: none
Anything else: should Bhernnev stay in the game long enough, he'll have to grow! he will become x-box huge,
as shown here. He'll carry around anything he's given if there's a complimentary chain he can wear around his neck. Don't make it too tight or he'll want to yoink it off.

The air seemed empty, somehow. The blanket of white snow extended to the horizon. The little dragon was surrounded by nothing but a cold desert, left to himself and his helplessness. There was something incredibly crushing about being alone. Bhernnev had developed an intense fear of it; any movement he spotted was accompanied by all kinds of possibilities - rarely harmless ones. He was always afraid there would be someone to catch him and take him farther away from home again. As much as his curiosity had him wander around with little attention to his company, there was something different about knowing that, in a closed space (like Cameron's ship), someone would eventually show up. In this case, he wasn't so sure.
Bhernnev dug on the snow. It wasn't very deep yet, so claws eventually scratched at solid ground. He was trembling as his paw dug deeper, but eventually formed a hole he could curl up in. The dragon was sad, unbearably scared. Hunger was starting to take its place in his stomach; the cold was making him increasingly sleepy. He thought of his mother's wings and Cameron's arms. They were similar, in a way. Bhernnev wanted either or to cover and protect him.
Eventually, voices came from the distance. It wasn't easy to understand what they were saying, but echoes soon became words.
His name.
His head lifted, leaning into the tension of his shoulders, still trembling. One paw reached out to climb out of his hole, eyes searching for the source. Bhernnev cried out with something between a whine and a growl. Soon enough, he found himself in Cameron's arms again, ready to be taken back to his temporary home.
