That's good news! And you'll probably feel better if you get the glasses. If your prescription isn't too bad, they might not cost more than a hundred bucks or so. (Maybe a little less? Mine has a weird prism in it that makes it more.) That seems like a lot, but even if your vision changes in the next few years, they'll still work pretty well-- in college, I didn't get my eyes checked and wore the same glasses for about six years, and I got by okay.

Yeah, but getting the $100 is the hard part. Right now I'm on temporary disability which doesn't quite cover my two major bills. I've been relying on donations and fic commissions to cover the rest and even then I'm just barely making it. As much as i hate to say it, right now, glasses are a luxury.

Do you know about what your prescription is? Because I don't know about where you live, but here the Lion's Club takes donated eyeglasses and maybe they could help with getting a pair? (Sorry, I don't know how to contact them about it- it was my job to rescue library books out of their glasses drop box at the public library).

Oh yeah, I have it written down. I'm trying to figure out how to get a hold of them because a few other people have recommended them but so far getting to talk to a live person in my area is easier said than done.

I don't know if there's an America's Best around where you are, but they have 2 pairs for $69. That's where I got mine.
