I have no interest in crucifying you, nor will I attempt to convert you to an Obamanaut. I would just like to comment on your disdain for Obama's being "in" right now and point out: when was the last time a politician was "in"? I was a bit young when it happened so I can't be positive, but I'm pretty sure even Clinton was never this iconic. While mass approval doesn't always mean "good" (i.e. Chris Crocker, hybrid SUVs, and binary gender), I think it's remarkable that after 8 years of being ashamed to be Americans, someone has come along that can be "in," someone people are truly proud of and truly want in office. As a result of Obama's candidacy, people are starting to think to themselves, for the first time in nearly a decade, that maybe this country has the potential to not suck.
