The xed up hand is kind of bad since your not straight edge it really bothers me it's like your claiming edge and you aren't edge so it's really fucking lame I know it's your live journal and whatever but it's really lame to claim edge knowing you aren't edge and others knowing your not edge it cheapens the lifestyle a whole lot to know there are kids not knowing what it is or miss interpreting it into something else and it brings a bad eye onto something I hold dear to myself.

i'm not straight edge and i've never claimed to be straight edge. i'm not wearing an x on my hand because i'm trying to be edge. i only had the x on my hand because i like the letter x. i think it's kinda demeaning, in my oppinion, for people to have to wear x's on there hands in order to show they are edge. i mean, it shouldn't be flaunted like that. it's a lifestyle and i respect that but that's like stoners drawing pot leaves on their hands to show they are a stoner. but really, i guess it doesn't matter much in the end. it's just sad how the letter x has become somewhat of an icon. it's just a letter.

i do appreciate your oppinion though.

everoyne in the scene knows that black x's on someones hand espically mean straight edge and it's very mocking to do that it's a fucking icon to show pride it started out as x meaning underage and it turned into x on someoens hand for not allowed to drink you still get xed if you go to clubs and you are under 21 thats where it started and straight edge kids took it to show everyone else in the scene that they where straight edge. And it's sad kids are using it for what it doesn't mean in a scene way i mean everoyne in there right minds knows what it stands for if your in the scene and i think your only putting in x on your hand to mock edge kids and thats really fucking lame. It's sad how to get scene points you gotta pull some shit like that to get attention yo it's really lame i have pride in being straight edge and this only cheapens what i hold so dear and makes other people think that it's cheap and some trendy thing to do when it isnt it's a commitment and whatever people can think what they want but i know whats true and i know ( ... )
