Time for a better update...

I am happy. It's been a long time, but I think I can see a bit of a light at the end of my life's tunnel. I think I have better direction now, and direction makes me happy. I know alot of people, sometimes myself included, who don't neccessariliy agree with the field I have chosen as a job. I will get into that after, but I think my job is going to ( Read more... )

The way I have it figured is this. You understand and recognize the damage the effect of your industry has on the Gaian population, and regret any mishaps or unfortunate accidents that happen whilst you work on such things. *nods*
That's about a hundred percent more than what a lot of people in your business are looking at. I've met a few of these so-called oil-barons, and they only worry about the bottom line, not the environmental cost.
That being said, consider that, yes, if you ain't doin' the job, someone else will. And to be honest, I'd feel a lot more comfortable having a guy who values life and liberty of soul working a spill than some nine-to-five donut-donut muncher who only wants his paycheque to pick up more porn.

Exactly. Nature always has a way of balancing things out though, both in the animal kingdom and in keeping humans in line. I just read in the paper about that blowout on a gas well near Brooks. I guess it's just Nature's way of resisting our unwanted advances...

I found a cow leg bone off in a patch of trees near where our lease was. I looked around for the rest of the skeleton but couldn't find it nearby. I thought it would have been cool to see a full skeleton. Check out that Dinsoaur Park thing for me, that would be wicked :D

I'm glad that you are with the rest of the group in saying that animals, in general, have a right to live and don't deserve a lot of the hardships humans put upon them. On the other hand, I believe that if we need oil and such, we are doing right in harvesting it. I only wish there was a safer way, for both the people working it and the animals that are affected by it, to extract it. All you can do is go with your heart when you finally get your own business underway and ensure that you are doing all you can to lessen the impact. That's all any of us can do anymore, it seems.
