YLOD! YLOD! YLOD! YLOD!

Well apparently my PS3 has been stricken by the Yellow Light of Death A.K.A. YLOD and I am mad as hell. My PS1 and PS2 still work. Hell, I think my Sega Genesis still works! My PS3 is 4 years old (bought it for MGS 4) and Sony doesn't even make this model anymore. Have any of you dealt with YLOD and was able to get it ( Read more... )

Mine hasn't YLOD'ed yet (probably mainly because I don't play it as much as I used to) Were you only playing games on it or were you also watching blue ray dvd's, I heard that if u use the PS3 too much for watching movies the lasers blow out quicker.

Oooh, maybe that's what happened. Because for a while there, my PS3 was more of a blu ray player than a videogame system.

DAMN YOU SONY!!! The company is all, 'This thing can do everything!' but when you use it for more than videogames it dies on you. You suck Phony... I mean Sony.

Yeah Phony...er Sony is a mess, I'm sorry this happened to you. You might be able to find a shop that can replace the laser, could be cheaper than buying a whole new system.

I bet ME3 has something to do with the YLOD. I had my PS3 for two years, and then after playing ME2 and then getting into ME3, all of a sudden my system kept freezing and then overheating. I had to go get a new PS3 because my old one died.

I never had a prob until I started playing ME...
