I just can't buy the price fixing claim. It'd be so easy to demonstrait that It couldn't continue long. I mean one audio tape on a security system and exxon gets a multimillion dollar fine. How many people would need to be in on this secret and keep it perfectly to inforce it in waldoburo maine?
Yeah, like I said, I have no way of guaranteeing anything that man said was true. He was a good enough guy, but it doesn't seem very feasible, especially now with the government being urged to take a more active role in seeking out market manipulation. I did want to mention it, though, because I'd feel like an jerk saying "That's stupid and could not happen for any amount of time" without mentioning that someone had a firsthand story to the contrary (he said he was approached by people from the brand stations up the street and told that they set the prices, and even if it's true that could just have been dumb store owners).
