I went to mass for Connie tonight. Pretty good for an old pagan lady, huh? Her daughters had asked me if I would speak a little at the service along with a selected few others, and I had agreed. I knew you hung out with cool people, but Don Ameche's daughter? I don't want to get all starstruck, but we all know that Don Ameche invented the telephone and that's just too neat.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It seems that you were able to hopefully find a little peace by contributing to the service that honored her life. As for making people laugh during a eulogy - that's ok. I think eulogies serve the purpose of remembering the deceased as they would have like and celebrating the time shared with them, rather than bemoaning the loss. There's a time for grief, but it can co-occur with wonderful memories too!

I *totally* understand about life (or sometimes, sadly, death) getting in the way of other minor things. Please don't feel bad/guilty/whatever on my behalf!

I had issues with one of the January b-day blocks too - made it three or four times before I finally got it right. I'm probably going to end up putting borders around them all (in red) so even if it's a little small I can make it work into the overall quilt. :D
