Knock Knock Knockin' on Arthur's Door

Aug 06, 2010 23:45

She had called before coming over here--she really had. He just... hadn't picked up.

She had said "fuck" for the first time in several months when he hadn't picked up.

Ariadne is aware of how very, very impromptu and undeserved her banging on his door at 3 am on a Sunday is, and trust me, she feels terrible for it, but who else is she going to go to when she manages to do a very good job of burning half her kitchen down in the middle of the night? Arthur is the King of Evasive Tactics, after all, and she needs a miraculous evasive tactic to evade the evil, terminally irate clutches of her landlord.

She pauses in her knocking for about a minute, fiddling with her phone, coughing into her sleeve, staring at his door. Then she starts knocking again.

Knock knock knock knock knock knock cough cough knock knock knock knock cough--"Arthur? Please wake up. Please, please, please, please, pleeease wake up..."

As for the coughing...well, she has just left an apartment quite filled with the fumes of melted plastic, and more than a bit of smoke. Pardon her if her lungs are slightly less than happy with her.
