1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Got a job! At the writing center for one hour a week. But I'm upping it to six hours a week this term!
2a. Did you keep your new years' resolutions?
Like I always say, I never make resolutions because I know I won't keep them, so why carry around a bunch of guilt for the new year?
2b. Will you make more for next year?
Nah. Above reason settles why.
3. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
I went to the Guyleses, ate pizza, and then I came home and watched an episode of Monk with my mommy. The world can barely contain the excitement that is me.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not really, though I consider myself traumatized in a minor way by the passing of Brittany Murphy.
5. What countries did you visit?
The Country of Babesville. Population: ME.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A real world job when I graduate. Please Lord.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
It was either December tenth or December eleventh. I found out I got a 98% on my renaissance poetry final, one of the most difficult tests I've ever had to take.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Job? That, and the 98%. It's a big deal for a notoriously bad test-taker like me!
9. What was your biggest failure?
I still don't have my license, a boyfriend, or any idea what to do with my life. Wheeeeee!
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I still suffer bouts of the insane stomach crampies/miscellaneous intestinal woes I inherited from 2008.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The dog DNA testing kit for my mom (well, my mom's DOG.) Can't remember when I've been prouder of a gift I've gotten somebody.
12. Where did most of your money go?
Mostly school and the bookstore.
13. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Man, there've been a lot. I wanna say..."Dear John" by i Monster, "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-haaa!" by Napoleon XIV, "Lonesome Organist Rapes Page-Turner" by Dresden Dolls, and, as always, I still listen obsessively to "Half Jack" by Dresden Dolls.
14. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Gone out more, gotten a license, spent more time with my grandma.
15. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wondering if every little thing I did was going to send me into a spiral of intense pain in the night, suffering each night from said pain despite (or because of) my worrying, wasting time on the internet (ohhhh, the irony).
16. What was your favorite TV program?
30 Rock! Oh, Liz Lemon. Don't worry, God isn't punishing your for stealing that hot dog from the blind man.
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I still hate everybody prettier and more successful than I am. Do fictional characters count?
18. What was the best book you read?
The Original of Laura was certainly interesting, and all written beautifully, but because it was incomplete, I don't know if I want to call it the best. So, I'll say Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. Ooh, Northanger Abbey was fun, too!
19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Fred and i Monster
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
Well, certainly not Surrogates. Can't really think of any that were the BEST. I'll get back to you....
21. What did you do on your birthday?
I had a virus, so I moped about feeling sorry for myself, convinced I was going to die of Swine Flu.
22. What kept you sane?
"I'm graduating in June. In June. I'm graduating in June." Well, I said that AFTER June this year.
23. Who did you miss?
Mah famlee, as always.
Happy New Year, suckers! I love you all equally, only some more equally than others. Har!
