Fic: In Time (Prologue)

It happened so fast. I didn’t expect it to happen.
“You’ve always been an idiot, Jin! I can’t believe you’d actually cheat on me with that woman! I can’t believe you, I just can’t…”
We’re fighting again, that’s not something new. And the reason…wasn’t something new as well.
“How many times do I have to explain to you that I’m not going out with her? We just happened to pass by each other and catch up on our lives since we meet rarely!”
I was getting tired of this. Every single time we fight, it’s always about something stupid or occasionally about one of us cheating on each other.
“Good riddance, I’m leaving. See you later, Jin.”
And he left. Again. That’s what always happens actually. We have sex. Then we talk about stuff. And the accusations come. And he leaves after that.
I’m getting used to it actually. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. But I don’t also think of it as a good thing. It just comes natural…I guess.
Kazuya left Jin’s apartment with a loud bang. After another pointless argument, Jin sighed heavily and lay down on his bed that he just shared with his lover awhile ago. He was still naked but didn’t mind changing for awhile amidst the cold atmosphere around him.
He stared at the ceiling and put his hands behind his head. He always wondered how he and Kazuya always managed to get through this kind of drama. Being a cuddly and loving couple at first and all that arguing and cursing came next.
He smiled at that thought. Maybe they were tougher than they thought. But somehow, this usual routine in their relationship is so tiring. Jin was tired of them always fighting and making up the next day with a good morning sex. He sighed as he rolled around.
Would I be able to also get used to my life without that relationship routine with Kazuya?

He couldn’t sleep a blink. His thoughts rummaged around the things that would probably happen if he hadn’t met Kazuya-if he haven’t started a relationship with him. Would he still be the same?
Questions filled his mind as he thought about all the probabilities that would happen in his life. What if he never joined JE? He would be no one but at least he would live a normal life. What if he never even let Kazuya in his life? Then maybe he would have all the time in the world and could go on dating anyone he wants. With no one to accuse him of cheating. With no one that’s waiting for him to come home.
He sighed. He’s thinking too much, he decides. He needed a drink. Yeah, that’s it. A drink for him to help forget his problems for awhile. Just this time, maybe, maybe he could get used to the life being alone.

Jin walked in his kitchen and opened his refrigerator to find some alcohol. He groaned in frustration when he saw none and closed the door shut. He needed something to drink.
He went back to his room and got a change for clothes. He was going out to buy some. You could see he’s desperate but at times like this, you can’t just understand a man’s necessities to forget everything they want and do anything they want.
He got out of his apartment and walked to his car, opening the door and driving to the nearest convenience store. His life was filled with many problems in life. With the paparazzi always tailing him behind, he couldn’t help but blow up on different people at times. And now he chose another thing to help him with his life, good or bad: Kazuya.
He loved the younger one, yes. But both of them might just be confused or too tired to even think of each other too much. They have been living their lives as performers, actors, singers and they even try hard to live their life as normal people. With each other supporting each other.

He finally got what he wanted and bought packs of it for the future as well. He loaded it in his car and placed it on the passenger seat beside his cell phone. He got to the driver’s seat and drove back to his apartment.
He was already feeling dizzy and felt the road was becoming longer than the usual route he goes. And now his cell phone is ringing and managed to glance at it once the light turned red.
Kazuya.
He just ignored it for awhile and instead got a can of beer and opening it before the light turns green again. He took a few sips before speeding up at late at night. The call turned to a voice mail and Jin just listened to it, answering it unconsciously from time to time while drinking his beer and driving.
“Hey Jin, it’s me…”
“Hey babe, missed me too much?” Jin smirked as he got a few sips of his beer again.
“I’m really sorry about awhile ago. I didn’t mean to walk out on you like that without hearing what you have to say. I’m sorry,”
Jin didn’t say anything and continued to listen to the voice mail as he turned on the next street.
“Let me make it up to you…”
“How?” Jin asked.
“I’ll do anything you want. You’ve always wanted to go back to Disneyland right? I’ll bring you there as many times as you want. I won’t complain about you being so childish about it anymore.”
Jin smiled; he knew Kazuya was just as thoughtful and sweet as before and got another sip of his drink and continued driving. He felt dizzier than ever but he still tried his best to drive all the way to his home safely.
“So Jin, please don’t forget to call me back once you receive this message. I’ll be waiting,” Jin was about to get his phone and finally talk to his boyfriend but something totally unexpected happened.
“I love you.”
Those were the last words Jin heard when he suddenly swerved right and a racing motorcycle and a car came crashing into his car. His car spun out of control because of the hit and managed to hit a big post causing his car to flip back.
The cell phone lay there beside the cans of beer and Jin was left inside the driver’s seat as blood scattered around his car up to 5 to 7 meters long.
I love you too. That was Jin’s last conscious thought as he finally fell into unconscious after hearing an ambulance already passing by and people shouting and screaming in aghast because of the sudden accident.
