“Daddy! Wake up! You promised we’d go to the park today!”

Bam.

Ouch! What the hell?

“-Daddy!”

Bam.

Don’t tell me…Yuki’s hitting me with the pillows again?!

Sigh.

“…Daddy, come on! We’re already late-“

A man in his late 20s groaned and turned to his other side of the bed as the one causing him pain fell from the bed which motivated him to wake up the older man more. The man lay on his stomach as the child named Yuki pouted. “Mou…Dad, come on!” The latter grabbed another pillow and kept hitting his dad but he still won’t budge.

Yuki wasn’t still giving up.

He decided to jump on his father’s back and keep on jumping him as the older man wakes up, and this was done.

OW! Okay, okay. I’ll wake up. Ugh.

The older man sat up which caused Yuki to fall from the bed again.

“Daddy! You’re finally awake! Come on, mom’s probably already waiting for us at the park!” The child said happily as he strode down to their kitchen and prepared for breakfast.

The father was named Jin Akanishi.

He’s a successful 28-year-old businessman and is the owner of many hotels and restaurants. He is well-known for his success however none really knows what’s happening in his real life. What most people know is that he had a wife who died of cancer and left him with a 5-year-old son named Yuki; that he was actually happily married but not the real truth that his marriage was just arranged for the benefits of both parties except for Jin himself.

Many think that Yuki really looks like Jin except that Yuki has a lighter shade of brown on his hair and on his eyes. Yuki, on the matter of his mother, is somehow still in denial that his mother died last year. No matter how much Jin tells him how his mother died, Yuki just thought of it like his mom was just sleeping and that someday they would play again.

Many pity the little one because he still couldn’t accept the real truth. But still, many thought that Yuki would someday understand when he’s a bit older and not now since he’s really attached to his own mother.

Oh well. It’s hard to convince him now.

Jin stood up from the bed, put on his slippers and went straight to the bathroom to fix himself up. He shaved and then brushed his teeth and wasn’t exactly surprised that when he opened the door, his son was there jumping up and down from his bed again.

He sighed again and thought that maybe he won’t get used to this until the child eventually grows.

“Daddy, are you done now? Come on!” Yuki cheerfully said.

Jin smiled. “Well, how am I going to be done when you’re still in my room and won’t let me change?” He chased the younger one around his big room until the other got tired and went out of the room. “Just wait for me outside, Yuki.” He said. “Okay, but be quick Daddy!” Yuki replied as he ran down across the hall and went to the living room and watched some morning cartoons.

Sigh.

Kids.

It was a Saturday and they always plan to go out during the weekends. Either they go out to lunch, to the park or just hang out at the mall. Jin thinks that this was a great way in spending time with his son knowing that the latter would enjoy it even without his mother’s presence. And since Jin was aware that he wasn’t able to spend time with his child due to his work, he thought it would be a great idea since the kid was an only child.

Jin grabbed a simple shirt, jeans and sneakers and went out to the kitchen to have some breakfast. Once he got out of his room, Yuki suddenly ran across the hall to meet him again.

“Daddy, daddy, are you ready yet?” Yuki jumped up and down and Jin just chuckled.

“Why don’t you let me eat first?” Jin suggested to which Yuki just nodded and let his dad eat.

It was a sunny Saturday which makes it a great weather to go outside. Jin sat down on a bench and began reading some things on the newspaper while Yuki wandered off and played.

“Ah! Jin, is that you?”

Jin looked up at the sound of his name being called.

“It is you! Remember me? I’m Ueda!” the voice said.

“Ah! Tat-chan! Ohayou. What are you doing here so early in the morning?” Jin greeted the older man and let him sit beside him. He and Ueda were classmates since Junior High and always thought that they had the same interests…only to find out that Ueda only pretended to like the same interests as Jin because he used to like him. But now’s different. Tatsuya Ueda was now going out with someone named Ryo Nishikido.

“I was here with Kame-chan and his dog. But when he told me that he would just get some water, he never came back 5 minutes later so I came out looking for him.” Ueda said smiling.

“Ah. Kame-chan! He’s really the type to wander off, ne? And I thought he was a very serious and hardworking type.” Jin chuckled as he remembered those times with his best friend, or rather, former best friend.

Jin Akanishi and Kazuya Kamenashi were best friends from Grade School until Graduate School. Although they did go to the same school, each had their different courses like Kazuya went more into photography with Ueda and Jin went into Business Management. Because of that, both had become busier and somehow their relationship somehow deteriorated. It was until after graduation that either just said a simple “Hi” or “Hello” to each other.

“Yeah, wasn’t he? I remember both of you were pretty popular ever since people started noticing you in Junior High. Those girls always stared at you guys and they thought it was a really great benefit for them since you and Kame-chan were always together. It’s no wonder that you guys always get those mushy love letters and stuff.” Ueda chuckled.

“Oh yeah? I found Kame’s funnier; especially when we found out that girls are not the only ones who are chasing him, but guys as well! Even guys from other schools thought that Kame was a girl and wanted to date him.” Jin chuckled as well.

“But I remember there was also a time when those letters from those guys and girls stopped coming to Kame except for those who were clueless,” Ueda said.

“Eh? Why?” Jin asked staring. He really couldn’t remember that happening.

“You really can’t remember?” Ueda laughed. “That was because many thought you guys were dating! Hah! Ever since that rumor started spreading, many were disappointed and even jealous.”

“Oh right! I remember that!” Jin suddenly smirked. “I remember that you were even one of those who were jealous and didn’t talk to Kame for a month until you found out the truth.”

The truth? Oh sure. The truth was that Jin and Kazuya weren’t really dating. They were just best friends and that’s that. But since they say that the more you spend time with each other, the more attracted you become-and that’s what happened to them…to Jin at least. Kazuya’s feelings for Jin were unknown except for the fact that he loved Jin as only a friend. Jin knew that and never spoke to anyone about it except Ryo and Yamapi and eventually the feeling began to slide out of him and he was glad because of it.

Ueda blushed at that. “Baka.” His eyes suddenly widened at a thought. “Oh crap! I forgot! I should still be looking for-“

“Daddy! Look! I found Mommy!” an excited Yuki came running back to his father dragging along another person who is clearly dumbfound and surprised.

Jin turned to his running son and was about to scold him until he saw the person he was actually dragging.

“Yuki-!” Jin started but suddenly stopped.

“See, Daddy? I found Mommy! I knew we would find her here!” Yuki excitedly chattered.

Everybody silenced for awhile until a loud laugh escaped from Ueda’s lips. There, Yuki was holding none other than Kazuya Kamenashi’s wrist!

Author’s Notes:
Well? How’s that for a first chapter? I found myself weird because the moment that I wrote that Ueda laughed, I was laughing as well because I could imagine Kame’s face while being dragged by a 5-year-old boy! XDD That or I’m just drunk and crazy. Haha. Comments are love! ♥
