Summary: Fifty sentences centered around the Eric Thompson X Donna Dunlap pairing.
Disclaimer: I don't own Heroes, else Eric Thompson would already have crossed the line between graphic novels and TV series.
Warnings: May contain grammar and spelling errors. Please, warn me if you find one.

A/N: Why people don't write about these two? It's the best canonical love story of the fandom.

To the ones who don't know anything about them: they're from the Heroes graphic novels, the Evs Dropper saga, which starts in Donna's Big Date, part one and ends (in my point of view) with Dreams Until Death. I recommend.


1. Ring
He falls on his knees, eyes on the grave, and lays the ring among the flowers, for the things he never said.

2. Hero
He tells her he just does what he’s told and that there’s no heroism on it, but she thinks otherwise: a man who does the things he’s told with such courage and selflessness must be a hero.
3. Memory
“There was red, and orange, and dark-blue, and yellow, and green. The most lovely green there is - was, I mean.”

4. Box
When he arrives, Bianca is packing her things - and he never thought something ordinary as a paper box could bring him to the verge of tears.

5. Run
His hips are aching, the world is crashing down around him, and he’s tripping on dead bodies - his colleagues, Juliens Dumonts -, and Sean Fallon is screaming for him to stop, but she’s in danger and he just doesn’t care.

6. Hurricane
The wind started to blow when she met his blue eyes, and, today, it already blew away every thing she believed in - but, every time she looks into the same blue eyes which started everything, she feels grateful for it.

7. Wings
My kingdom for wings, he thinks when he sees the nails on her feet.

8. Cold
They are in the damned coldest place of the world, but she’s so close to him that he doesn’t feel anything but that weird thing in his heart.

9. Red
He stares at the photo, and the blood on her mouth makes him sick.

10. Drink
He doesn’t remember exactly what he drank at the bar, but it isn’t doing him any good; he thought he’d entered the room with a blue-eyed blonde, and now all he drowns in the sight of the green eyes and the chestnut hair of his partner.

11. Midnight
The night before it all happened, he offered her a ride home, but, neither of them could point exactly why - maybe a presentiment - they went to a park instead, looking to the stars and enjoying the night.

12. Temptation
She’s sleeping in the passenger seat, her lovely face more beautiful than ever and, looking at her red lips, slightly open, he feels a sudden urge of playing Snow White’ charmed prince.

13. View
She can see every detail of his skin, and her hands are shaking when she shoots.

14. Music
They never had a song of theirs, and, sometimes, he’s glad for it - he’d never stand listening to such a sad song.

15. Silk
He looks to her silky shirt, and, briefly, wonders how it’d be to touch the skin which hides underneath it.

16. Cover
Blake flashes a smile to her during the dinner, a charming and seducing one, and she briefly thinks he’s too perfect to be real.

17. Promise
He’s not good at keeping promises; he promised his father he’d never question the Company’s policy, no matter how many people died; he promised Gael he’d not get too involved with his new partner; he promised Donna everything would be alright.

18. Dream
Every morning, he wakes up with a scream, his arm extended, trying to reach something too far from the touch.

19. Candle
When she spots the guy waiting for her in the restaurant, she ponders asking to the waiter if he could turn off the light and bring some candles.

20. Talent
The last thought which crossed his head before falling, the bullet breaking his best goggles, was that that girl would be an excellent Company agent.

21. Silence
Eric never said a word about the backup which never came, but Gael sees the accusation in his eyes - and the silence is the worst of all things.

22. Journey
She knows that placing her as his partner in the assignments is his silent invitation to be his partner in the journey to find out who’s Evs Dropper, and she accepts it gladly.

23. Fire
When she listens to his story, and realizes that Evs Dropper is going to hurt people like him, she feels as if her soul’s on fire.

24. Strength
He can handle everything: the sleeping gas, the army of Julien Dumonts, even Connie Logan, but, when Donna points his gun at him, he feels like he is the weakest being in the world.

25. Mask
When he realizes Penny is wearing her face, he feels a brutal urge of breaking every bone of that brat.

26. Ice
Bianca has a lot of fun watching how Eric’s icy façade melts every time Donna smiles at him.

27. Fall
He rises from the water, eyes stuck on the bridge in flames.

28. Forgotten
“He stares at me as if I’m guilty of something, did Eric forget the policy?”, complained Gael to Bianca, only to hear her furious reply: “Did you forget what it feels like losing the ones you love?”

29. Dance
He was raised to be a Company agent, not a dancer, so, when Bob Bishop invites him to a donation party he’s going to do, he almost refuses; he only goes because Donna promises she’ll go with him and that she’ll teach him how to dance the waltz.

“Have you lost something inside her shirt, Thompson?”, teases Bianca, and Eric blushes, turning his eyes away from Donna and Felicia’s training.

31. Sacred
“I don’t wanna just take her to bed, Bianca, damn it, it’s different this time!”, he shouts furiously, and adds, in a whisper: “I’d rather die than see her hurt.”

32. Farewells
“I love you too”, he can see the words on her lips, and he knows he’ll never hear it again.

33. World
Before she appeared on his life, he used to believe he was saving the world; after she appeared on his life, he still believed he was saving the world, but ‘world’ suddenly had a whole new meaning.

34. Formal
“Donna Dunlap, you are now officially placed as my partner”, he says, trying to express in these words all the things he hopes from her.

35. Fever
He only realizes what’s happening when she falls over the paperwork, unable to keep pretending she was fine - so he takes her to the nursery and waits for her diagnosis, and stands at her side till she wakes up.

36. Laugh
It must be a joke: she fell in love with a guy who was lying to her about his identity, trying to take her to somewhere she didn’t want to go; she’s working for a Company which brainwashed her, and someone which was meant to be her ally tied her to a bomb - if these are not reasons to laugh, then what is?

37. Lies
The height of lying to him about her former allegiances stabs her heart like a knife every time she looks at his eyes.

38. Forever
When he smiles to her, she feels like they’re going to be together for eternity.

39. Overwhelmed
She lets her hair loose, looking at the stars, and the moon lights her face with pale silver - and, when she asks why he is staring like that, he can’t find the words to describe his enchantment.

40. Whisper
“Go ahead, I’m right behind you”, he whispers in her ear, raising the gun to protect her against the enemy ahead, and, strangely, she feels a shiver running down her spine.

41. Wait
She was there, tied, her beautiful feet nailed to that damned piece of wood, and he doesn’t know what to do - and where the hell is the bloody backup to help him?!

42. Talk
There are so many things he wants to say, so many feelings hidden in his heart, but the words are stuck on his throat and all he is able to do is mumble an incomplete declaration before she pushes him out of the bridge.

43. Search
When she shows him the bullet which killed Cushing, demanding for an explanation - for honesty - he knows he can stop looking for a partner.

44. Hope
“She has a death sentence over her shoulders, Eric; are you sure you want her as a partner?”, asked Gael, and Eric only replied: “I hope I can protect her of this sentence.”

45. Eclipse
They looked at the sky, she at the University in New York, and he at a car going to Texas, both delighted with the phenomenon; what they didn’t knew was that that eclipse would be the start of a chain of events which would lead them to each other.

46. Gravity
The wind rushes passing his ears, the water closer by the second, and he wants desperately to fight, to come back to the bridge, to save her or to die with her, but he can’t, he’s falling, and he hits the water and the bridge explodes at his back and he drowns.

47. Highway
The adrenaline rushes through his veins, Sabine’s car very far away (hell, he liked Sabine, why she had to do it?), and Donna pointing the gun, and they avoiding the cars on the way, the chase gleaming on both their eyes, and he wants that feeling to last forever.

48. Unknown
For the first time, he doesn’t know what kind of future waits him ahead; he doesn’t know if there’s anything still worth living after she died, and, sure, this scares him - but, most of all, makes him want to join her.

49. Lock
Since everything happened, Eric has locked himself to the world, and, even if Bianca knows he has reasons to, it’s not easy to see him like this.

50. Breathe
He parks the car in front of her house, and she hesitates a little before opening the door of the car (she doesn’t know, but she’ll die the day after), stops, thinks, comes back and hugs him tightly, listening to the heavy sound of his breath before going away for the last time.
