India Pics

Dec 05, 2006 04:52

Okay, so, here are some pics from India. They're not the best, seeing as they were taken from a car, but they'll give you a general idea.

A woman wearing a Punjabi. This is what most of the women wear.

You can see some women wearing Punjabi's on the left.

Common street corner.

I believe this is a Catholic church, not 100% sure though.

This is what most, if not all, the shops look like in Bangalore, except for the malls.

A very full bus, you can see the guy hanging out of the door. They're usually always full. And they all look like they're gonna fall apart.

A monument for something in the middle of a traffic circle.

A gas station and stuff.

Another street.

A main road.

Cars at a stop light. You can't really notice, but they're not lined up in any lanes.

Some men either at a drink place, or a food place. Most 'restaurants' only serve one thing, unless you go to the more 'up scale' ones.

Okay, now this is a bad shot, but here you can see that they just use STICKS tied together as scaffolding.

A Public high school.

And here we have the suburbs. Well, that's not too far from the truth. This would be lower middle class, I think.

This is a temple, it's a bad shot, but you can see the paintings and stuff on it.

A street cleaning woman. The government pays these women like, 5 rupees a day or something to sweep the streets. And that broom this she has doesn't have a handle, you have to bend over to sweep. I don't know why they don't use real brooms, but they don't.

A woman in a Saree.

Another traffic circle.

Yeah, you don't see that every day.

If you look at the white building in the back you can see more of the sticks for scaffolding.

Super Specialty Hospital. I dunno. You got me.

If you ever need neurosurgery, you know where to go.

Just some building, with a guard.

You can see another one of those cleaning women here. I dunno how they manage to do all that in a Saree, or why they'd want to ruin such beautiful fabric, but damn...

Temple or some sort. They're all very small, and yes, all that gaudy.

This picture will show you how poorly taken care of buildings are here. This building I Think is only 10 years old. Imagine what Mysore Palace looks like now, having been built in 1914, and the last maintenance it got was in 1930 before the Brits left.

I haven't seen any accidents, but I have seen a lot of signs cautioning people about it.

An old woman selling some stuff. This is on one of the more up scale streets.

And some Bollywood signs. I nearly laughed out loud when I saw these.

And a computer shop. Lawl.

And here are the infamous rickshaws. I wouldn't ever get in one of these things. The drivers are Insane.

But honestly, photos can't capture India. It's something you have to see to believe. It's SO crazy it's unbelievable.
