2 hikaru no go drabbles that have been collecting dust. very short.
1.
Sometimes, Hikaru dreams.
Mostly, they are silly dreams. But sometimes, he dreams illogical dreams, fantastic dreams, where go is still a part of his life, where he actually wins the games that he plays without Sai hovering over his shoulders, directing moves with certainty and confidence of a person comfortable in his own abilities.
Sometimes, he dreams; and he wonders.
2.
Some days, Hikaru is curious.
---
It has been two weeks and a day since Hikaru first won a game of go.
Sai never says anything, but Hikaru knows that the ghost often stares at him contemplatively, tapping his fan against his lips, almost as if he was eying a possible source of competition. So Hikaru tries and tries to learn the game, tries not to disappoint his new friend, tries his best to catch up.
Hikaru doesn't know how to play go, but when he looks at the board and the maze of black and white, he can start to see the patterns, the hidden danger in the black pieces that he has never noticed before. Someday, he thinks in a daze as he places his stones - Sai's stones - mechanically on the board, he would like to be able to fully appreciate the beauty in every battle.
Hikaru thanks his opponent as the other boy bowed his head and murmured his resignation.
Someday, he hopes furiously, someday soon.
