*PUBLIC ENTRY INTENDED*

Well tonight I got in this huge religious argument. Ugh I don't feel like typing it (I wish I could just talk and this damn thing typed it for me) but here goes. Please comment.

WARNING: THIS MAY OFFEND CERTAIN PERSONS.

I understand what you mean about people pushing their beliefs on to you...it gets old & annoying really fast. I'm not vry religious, I've just been raised to believe there is a God. I dont know why/how & I have no justification for this belief. My parents have left it open though that we can agree/ disagree and choose to beleive whatever we want. I'm not really sure what I beleive though, I do beleive in God but I'm not really sure why. But I agree, I think everyone is entitled to their own beliefs especially regarding religion.

Thanks, I can understand that there is not really any kind of justification for why people think what they do.

I concur with your rationality
I see it things from a logical and literal stand point.
I haven't not always been like this though, I'm catholic
and i use to attend mass every sunday, or saturday, or both with my family.
I use to pray and believe in these things as a child. But I haven't been to a church since May 2001. Things have changed my perspective since then. This whole 'belief' thing is hard to argue with. Its better to have an idea, you can change an idea, its hard to change a belief, people die to defend a belief, they kill for their belief; look at the bible, I have. I can respect people with a strong religious faith, but i don't think they should use that to push on me, been there done that. same goes with politics.

And the Santa thing reminds me of a joke:
theres a 4 way intersection, and theres a $100 bill in the middle of the interestion, at each corner of this interestion is Santa, the Easter Bunny, God, and a hobo, who gets to the money first? the hobo, cuz the rest are imaginary!

Thanks for your input, too. Funny joke, although it kind of contradicts your belief... haha.

Yea, I am religious I am not offended but you just have to see it from all sides... people need hope or they might go insane or somthing of that nature some people are just like that. If you are on your death bed and you are about to die and you thought to your self im going to be dead... nothing more... me nothing... that is not comprehendable its just not. But if you sit there and think "Heaven is waiting and its going to be better than this life and i will love it" you will die with hope and happiness. I mean i dont beleive some of the things the scipture says but some i do i beleive god made this earth with us on it. that he watches us but we make our choices in life to decide what we will be. If you are born poor doesnt mea you will live poor its your choices ... some people get it easier some people get it harder i dont know what im saying but yea shes right and you are right both of you. I beleive jesus will come and save us and i beleive in heaven i beleive that jesus was once among us but i dont beleive in god giving you ( ... )

so what your saying - is that religion and god are sort of safety nets for peoples fears. They don't want to accept death and the possibiltiy of nothingness so they concoct some story to make them feel better before they die..... and also -- your "religion" says if you repent than heaven will be waiting.... not - if you are a good person it's -- oh if you believe in me and worship me I'll let you in but if you're a real good person but choose to neglect me adios amigo... what kind of god is that..... oh nad when shante lays off the religion stuff shes real cool.... yesterday we had races to see who could make the faster sandwich with our eyes closed.... we got food everywhere. :):)

Yeah see... we see things on the same side. That's why we're friends. And the only reason, also.

Haha that's great. See McDonalds can be an awesome place to be when people aren't being completely lame. Remember when I stained your shirt ((bleach fight!)) Or the hose fight when Andrew was around...

Religious nuts scare me.

I'm a Jewish-Buddhist-Catholic by parentage, which translates into a very pissed off athiest. Organized religion is a hoax.

Thank you for your opinion... the only valid one to me, at least.
