Washington Mutual failed yesterday. That is the largest banking failure in US history. Its head office is here. Two of my friends from NTRC work there. They'll probably go through layoffs again

I refuse to have an account with stupid Chase. I am not a fan of large uber banks. WaMu was bad enough, but at lest they were a local company and when I was a little thing, they were local unlike USAA and convenient. It was hard to do banking back in the day when there was no online stuff, and your bank was located in the south.
So now I am in the process of changing to a local credit union I had my car loan through. I already have a savings account there, but it is not that simple. Work will not complete the direct deposit transfer until Nov 30. I have to do automatic bill pay to keep .25% less interest on my student loans, bla bla bla. Huge pain in the butt!!
