Marie, Kevin, and Anneke are on the website of their future co-housing community.

If I had a family, I'd seriously consider co-housing. It seems like a nice alternative to the McMansions that are popping up everywhere.

Interesting... I have been reading about this kind of thing recently when reading about 1970's Feminism and communal housing for families. It originally generated interest in order for women who wanted greater liberation, but wanted to be mothers as well. It didn't take off well, as we see a today.

Not so sure how I feel about it though, as I have lived in groups or with enforced roomates within a group. Most likely my triggers kicking in. Also, looking at several members bio's it mentions they were formerly in Christian communes or several are extremely devoute individuals. Again, more triggers.... Watch out for intense evangelism.

However, me and my ever so cynical brain are suspicious whenever a single man is interested in living in a community like this. I worry about the children.

I do hope it works out well for your friends.... REALLY!

I understand, Abi. I've always felt Marie and Kevin embody the perfect balance of healthy religion... without letting it take over their lives.

But I understand your experience as well. It's always best to be on the lookout, though I prefer to give it the benefit of the doubt.
