I talked to Lily on the phone today. Remember her? She was my best friend from 12 to 17. The most important best friend. I loved her like a sister. We did EVERYTHING together. Well, ...not that. And not that either. But everything else ( Read more... )

I read a really interesting/disgusting article last year that was linked to from a friend here on the guy who founded Urban Outfitters. He used to be a bigtime hippie, but now he's just a bigtime Republican plotting world domination.

Lily is irritating. You get time to yourself away from your kids by leaving them at home for an afternoon with a babysitter, not going to another country for two weeks! What a strange woman. And don't worry - I'll always remember your chutzpah, especially when it comes to getting a new vacuum cleaner.

I like your memories.

I miss 120 Minutes and Friday Night Videos. I was never allowed to watch them at home, so it was such a treat and such a decadence to be over at a friend's house, watching MTV and talking and munching on popcorn or whatever snack there was (my mother never gave us snacks). Granny boots, turtleneck, and long skirt ... you must have been so cool! :) (You still are.) I would have looked up to you if I'd known you then.

I feel bad for Lily's kids. *sigh*

OH! You cross posted! Awesome! The post so nice I read it twice! Your friend is still irritating, and I still have no casserole ideas. Except tuna casserole. And chicken divan.
