I'm writing a paper for Ramirez right now, and one exercise he recommended was that instead of a thesis statement, we should first come up with a big, clunky, overlong title that sums up the focus of our paper ( Read more... )

There are times I think to myself 'I could have been happy and successful as an Arts student'.

Then I read something like that, and I want to crawl back into a corner, protecting all my vital areas, and pull my partial differential equations, numerical methods and design tables around me like a warm and comforting shroud.
