We leave tomorrow to go to Maryland to visit Michael's family (of course for the Thanksgiving festivities, but I'll spare everyone my rant about hating the holiday and what it symbolizes for native people and the propagation of myths that are damaging to indigenous cultures, blah, blah, blah). hmmm- now that you mention it, really good idea! i was planning on wine for sure. it's not that i don't like michael's family, mind you, it's just that i'm a bit of a control freak, and i'll be in a place where i have absolutely no control over anything. food, where we go, what we do, the timing of any of those things, and on and on. plus no kitty love. so i think xanax is a great plan. also for xmas when i'll be in the exact same situation (when we go to vermont to see my mom). except i think that will be worse because then we won't even have a car- we're flying, you see.
