Chapter 1
The Gold trumpets sounded. That was the signal that the sheriff of Nottingham was about to enter. The doors of his castle opened. The Sheriff came out still in his nightclothes. This would not be the first and surely not the last time he came out in his nightclothes. His shinny baldhead was sided by some gray and silver hairs. Had fairly amount of hair on his chin. Following him was his lieutenant sir Guy of Gisborne. He was tall, and wore black leather. His hair fortunately covered his whole head, and came down to the middle of his neck. His eyes were blue. The face had some hair that made its way to his chin; it did not cover because it was not much. He had taken over Locksley when Robin Hood had become an outlaw. Guy had also taken over Huntington. That also used to belong to Robin. Guy accompanied Marian who had been watching this that was going on. He greeted her with a smile. Guy and Marian had been friends for quite sometime, but she could tell Guy wanted more. Another fanfare had gone off. Everyone was silent. The peasants had come to hear what the Sheriff was going to say. Three prisoners had been escorted by three of the Sheriffs guards. The mourning of women became sound to my ears. For this was a hanging. Each of the prisoners was brought to the hanging stage. The Guards put a thick yellow rope around the prisoner’s necks. They looked hopeless and weary from the beatings they pursued before they were to be hanged. The Sheriff had told the guards to give them a lash so that would humiliate them in front of the populace. The sounded of a whip hitting flesh was the only thing you could here. Each whip had made Marian’s heart beat harder and majestic. Her heart had fallen from her chest to the pit of her stomach. Guy stood by her and was perfectly still. He took hold of her hand with his and gently pulled her closer to him. Marian responded by coming closer and resting her head on his shoulder. The Sheriff began to speak. These three young men are being punished because they have committed a crime that we cannot let pass. Without punishment there is no order. These men have flouted the law and have questioned my authority not only once but many times. They must hang by a rope until they are dead. This is the law and those who defy it will not be excused they will die. The drummer began to beat the drum. The beats had started to get faster and faster until it suddenly ceased. That was when the guards took the bench that kept their necks above the end of the rope. One by one they were hung. Their feet moving rapidly and then stopping meaning that they were dead. After awhile the crowd had gone back to their daily lives. Guy had gone back to his job and I back to Knighton. The sun was almost gone and Marian had saddled her white and gray speckled horse and rode of into the night. There was a spot where she had liked to go to think and relax. It was the field that looked upon Locksley villages. The villagers were all getting ready to sleep and eating dinner. Marian loved how all the stars seemed to be there. She always sat there in wonder and awe. She remembered all the things she had done their as a child. Played with Robin and Much. They would always seem to pick on her until she got a little older. She missed that, she missed the villagers with smiling faces and hope filled in their eyes. The moon was beautiful full and bright. She liked the night the best, mainly because she would dress as the night watchmen and give food and medicines to the villagers. Also she loved the feeling and the beauty of it. Marian new she had to get back home. She mounted on her horse and galloped into the quite and still night. She had to pass the castle in order to get home. She saw the main gate of the castle open. Guy was exiting on his black horse. Although she could see him he could not see her yet. He looked tired from listening to the Sheriffs comments and having to carry out his orders. Although I thought he didn’t see me he did. I don’t know how he saw since the only light was the torch flames and the sky but some how he managed to. He called for me. Marian, Marian. I had my horse walk over to his. What are you doing out here in the night? Guy asked. I’m actually heading home there is not need to worry Guy. Do you need me to come with you? He asked. I will be fine on my own but thank you. I should be going home. Marian said. Wait there is something I want to show you it will only take a minute. Guy said. Don’t worry you’ll be home before you know it. Guy said. Well if you say so I will go. Marian said. Shall we Sir Guy said. His voice was low and made maid Marian feel safe. They rode in the night side-by-side and soon ended up at Huntington. Guy dismounted and grabbed hold of her hand while she dismounted. He. Where are we going Guy, Marian asked in wonder. Were almost there, just a few more steps and we will be there. Guy said. He had taken the lead with her hand in his with her following him. When they arrived to their destination she was awestricken. I see you like it Guy said. A Beautiful field of flowers surrounded them and the sweet aroma of wild flowers filled the night air. The moon was in clear view and the stars seemed to shine brighter than ever. This was even better than Locksley’s field in her view. Guy its beautiful I have never seen anything like it before. Marian said with a smile and she turned and faced him. You must find yourself very lucky to own such a precious and beautiful place. Marian said. It is beautiful Guy said; yet I find you see it more than just beautiful he also said with laughter. I guess I do, Marian said with a smile. Guy took her hand again and led her to a wooden bench that had been placed there. He had let her sit down before him and he followed. When he had sat down she rested his shoulder. Don’t you wish life could be like living in a place like this? Marian asked Guy. That would be nice, but then you wouldn’t get to see the world that lies around you. He bent over picked a purple and white flower that seemed to glow in the night. He looked at her and smiled and said for you my lady then handed her the gorgeous flower. Marian looked at it and saw so many things besides the color in it. What are you thinking Guy said? I remember that color; I used to see it every day of my life. I used to see the women that lived by me would make a crown and place it on the top of their heads. Sarah had made me one that looked like theirs. I was a young girl when that happened. When she had a little girl I did the same. Jess Sarah’s daughter would not take it off she liked it so much. I remember the spring days where we would sit in the fields surrounded my aroma and beauty. The site of millions of them in the summer grass just made my heart soar. Marian said. I don’t know if you wanted to hear that whole story, Marian said. Don’t be I found it a charitable memory that you shall never forget. He turned his head to Marians and pressed his lips to the top of her head. At that moment all was silent except the sound of crickets in the beautiful night. Guy, I think it is time for me to leave for my home. Marian said. Marian stay for a while longer, you know you want to. Guy said. Thank you for bringing me here I enjoyed it, but I must go I am sorry. Marian said. Guy stood up as she did and said might Ill walk you back to your horse Marian he said. Of course Marian answered. As they walked about half way to there horses Guy suddenly swept her off her of her feet. He looked in to her radiant eyes and she looked into is and said Guy what are you doing. Guy smiled and started to walk. As she was in his arms she looked at the bright purple flower and then looked up at him. She wrapped her hands behind his neck and clinged her fingers together. When he had let her down on her feet again she approached her horse. As did Guy. In her hand was still the flower he had picked for her. They stood by the side of her horse. Are you sure you know your way from here to Knighton. Guy asked. I do Marian said. Then I bid you farewell. She looked up at him and as he came closer He had put his arms around her. Her head beneath his chin and her hands pressed to his chest. He kissed her fore head and ended at her lips. As they stood there in the dark and radiant night all was quite. All she could hear was the slow soft beat of his heart. He had gentle pursued his lips to hers and started to stroke her hair repeatedly. Be careful Marian, Guy said. I couldn’t exactly tell what I was feeling at that moment. So many emotions ran through me I didn’t know what to say or do. I cleared my head and I looked up at him. He released his hold on me and I mounted on my horse. He was still right where he was before he looked and smiled at me and said sleep well Marian. Guy said. You as well she replied. I urged my horse to go and I was of in the beautiful night. I had gotten to Knighton and I quietly slipped into my room. I looked outside my window and saw a figure in the night. It was so dark I couldn’t identify him. I knew he was up to trouble. I grabbed my green cape and put my sword in my belt. I hurried out the door and I was lucky enough to still be able to follow him. I was swift as the leaves that fell from the trees and silent as the gloomy night that surrounded me. I had been following him for a few minutes. I wanted to stay close to him so I wouldn’t lose the trail. I started to hear multiple steps. I stopped in my tracks and thought in the split second. He might have reinforcements. My heart beat like a drum, but only faster. Marian felt her pulse through out her body. She hid behind a tree and waited for them to retreat. She began to see speckled of firelight. She smelled the aroma of light smoke. She was near to their camp. Marian had come in reach to see their camp. Her ears could hear men laughing and having a few drinks. They were sitting around the fire looking as if they were having a good time. She was so concentrating on what they were doing she did not see the man that came behind her. He came up and took hold of her arm and forcefully strained it behind her back. She whimpered softly. What is a noble lady like yourself doing our in the woods when she is not welcome. The stranger said. I mean no harm, Marian said. Well sweetie that don’t cut it I m afraid. He took control of her arms and tied them up in a harsh itchy rope. He had pushed her to move forward and was tough. In a loud voice he told said, hey boys we got us some pretty entertainment this night. He shoved her with harsh strength and Marian had lost balance and fell to her knees in the grimy dirt. She made a glare at him and spit at him. Well we got a spirited one we do don’t we. The stranger said. In all the roar of laughter there came a voice even louder hey Duke what we got here. Marian had now found out that the man who tied her up was called Duke. The figure in the crowd that had called his name was a young boy about in his teenage years. Well where have you been lad, we got us some entertainment. Duke grabbed Marian’s chin with pressure. At that moment Marian had bit his finger. Duke pulled his hand away in a split second. He cradled his finger with his other hand. He looked at her and gritted his teeth together. Through his gritted teeth he threatened her. Marian knew she would be harmed if she underestimated him again. Duke what are you doing that’s Marian of Knighton. It was the young boy who I had seen in the crowd. Stay out of this John; it has nothing to concern you. Duke said with firmness in his voice. Don’t harm her she saved my little sister from a deadly disease. John announced. He came around the back of her and cut the rope with a sharp knife. He helped her stand on her feet and stood beside her. If anything she is a lifesaver not a life taker. John said proudly. Your little sisters’ name is Scarlet isn’t it? Marian asked. It is, you helped me so I will help you. John said with a grin. She looks like you, John. Marian said. The men had cleared off and went back to what they were doing before the corruption. You can stay with my mother and my family lady Marian. John offered. Thank you, I don’t think ill be able to make it back home at this time of night. She had been brought to Johns home. Many familiar faces greeted her. Young little Scarlet came to Marian’s side for she was only as tall and gave her a friendly hug. Marian bent down so she could see eye to eye with Scarlet. Have you been feeling better? Marian asked. Scarlet nodded her head bag and forth repeatedly. Well I am glad to hear that Marian said with a grin. Scarlet’s mother approached Marian and took her hand and gentle pulled her up and looked her deep into her eyes. A tear had rolled down from her cheek. Marian took her hand and pressed it to her chest. Lindey all will be well I promise. Marian said with love. Lindey looked at her again and smiled. Marian had been led to her room and while she was in there she thought about if she were in Scarlet’s mothers position of life. Lindey had lost her husband and was a victim of the Sheriffs taxes. She could scarcely put bread on the table for her hungry children and herself. Yet in the midst of all this she could still put a smile on her face for her children. That astounded Marian. She loved the hope she has in her heart and her willing to try again. She never wanted to see Lindey in the bad times, she helped a much as she could. The rest she left up to Robin Hood. Marian couldn’t believe what was being done while in king Richards absents. As the darkness became dawn Lindey entered into Marian room to find her gone. Marian had woken up early and went back to Knighton. Marian had rushed into the front door of her home. When she had shut the door behind her, Marian’s father was standing in the center of the floor. She thought he would have still been sleeping, but she had been wrong. He looked at her with a glare in his eyes. I believe you will tell me what you have been up to young lady. Edward, Marian’s father said. Marian looked up at him and turned her head toward the stairs that lead to her room. Marian listen to me Edward said with firmness in his voice. You cannot just run amuck. Edward said. Just leave me be Marian said. I am not hurt so there is nothing to worry about. She grabbed her cape and grabbed the latch on the door and pulled at it till it opened. Now where are you going? Edward said with a sigh. I m going to the castle, I cant deal with this right now I am sorry. Marian said as she made her exit. The outlaws had made it in to the castle but were forced to retreat. They were all bummed that they had not completed their mission. Robin was beating him self up at the cause of this. Each face was beat red and covered in sweat. All men taking deep breathe of the forest air. They looked like tired battle warriors. Robin I am sorry, a voice from the crowd said. This voice belonged to Allan. Allan it isn’t really your fault. Robin said. We just to a chance at it and we failed. The outlaws were up to it again. Trying to steal back the taxes that were under guard in the castle. They gang had succeeded before, but had also failed before. Since the Sheriff new about their break inns he ordered even more guards and had them post with out stop. Marian had reached the castle gates as they opened. She handed her reins to one of the stable boys and dismounted. Marian walked up the stone steps and turned to the left walk way. While she was walking down the pathway, randomly she was pulled into a corner around the edge of the turn. The corner she was pulled into was barely torched, so it was actually quite dark. She looked up and saw a face; she couldn’t tell whom it was. She could tell it was a man though. He quickly came closer and lifted her chin up so that she could see his eyes. She only had a moment to look into them when he pressed his forehead to hers and kissed her pail red lips. She knew it was Guy when he looked down at her. Marian looked at him and shook her head with a puzzled facial expression. What was that for she asked with a smile? You’ve never heard of a good morning kiss, Guy said. It helps you through out your day. He also mentioned. How? Marian questioned. In many ways like, helps keep you from being lonely, and lets you know that someone is thinking about you. Guy answered. Well that sounds like a good explanation. Marian said then grinned. MARIAN. A voice yelled her name but she could not see the figure that was yelling it. Marian what’s going on? Guy asked. I don’t know, and I don’t recognize that voice. Marian said with a puzzle. While Guy and Marian were standing there in confusion five men with razor sharp swords appeared out of nowhere. Guy had pulled his sword out and stood close to Marian. They had made a circle that surrounded them. They had mask over their face. You could only see their dark and fierce eyes. We stood there as if we were statues. The two guards that stood behind Guy and me took my hands and forcibly twisted them so I could not have use of them. He then jerked me away from him. Guy responded by pointing his sword at them, but he was out numbered. Guy, Marian said she looked at him and told him to put his sword down. Wise choice one out of the five men. They were both led to the Great Hall where they were both pushed to the ground. Guy looked over to Marian who was to the left of him. She looked back at him when the doors opened again. It was a man. Following him was the Sheriff. I then put it in my mind that these soldiers belonged to the man. Gisborne, the sheriff said meet sir Zechariah of Jerusalem. You brought a Saracen here… Why? Marian asked. You see my dear we have a guest that would like to help us out in a few different categories. Well put these two in the dungeons sir said the guard said. Well I don’t think that will be necessary, the Sheriff said. We must be careful on who we trust. Zechariah said. The sheriff stood there and did nothing. What would she have expected from that no good of a man. They led Guy and I away to the cold and dark dungeons. When the black rusted gate had been opened we had been shoved in. Guy pulled me to his side keeping me at distance from them and said to the men that had done this that they would regret this. When they had stopped laughing and left I had taken a seat on the stone rock hard bench that was in the middle of the cell. I took a deep breath of the dusty air. I heard the screams of men being tortured and saw the men begging for some left over scraps from the kitchen, it echoed throughout the dungeon. It frightened her inside. She knew she did not want to disturb them. Guy walked over to the metal bars and banged his head lightly on them. The cell beside us was in occupation on two filthy men. They came over by our cell and began to look at me. What is a spoiled noble woman like you doing in this pit? The man on the man on right said. He reached his grimy hand out and reached for my arm. Guy saw what had happened and took control of the situation. Back off you scum Guy said with a harsh tone. The men did not hesitate. I think it might have been Guy who put them in this position. Guy came behind me and began to lightly stroke my curly brown hair. I’m sorry about what this idiot Saracen has done, are you all right? Guy asked. Did you know anything about this new guest here at the castle Guy? Marian whispered. I knew some kind of guest was going to arrive this week, but I didn’t think he would make his entrance so violently. Well I think he indented on making his visit a surprise. Marian said. I bet its has something to do with our guest’s money. Marian suggested. I stood to my feet and I came closer to Guy. He looked in my eyes and saw that I was worried. He came closer and pressed my head to his chest. Again I could hear the beat of his heart. Only this time it was faster. After what seemed like a lifetime the appearance of two soldiers came into my sight. Guy look, Marian said their back. Awe look at these two lovebirds the soldier on the right side of the cage said. Well you two have been called for a trial, in order to steak your punishment. The soldier by my side of the cage said. Punishment? What for? Marian said. Well for us it is for entertainment. The guards said at once with a loud laugh. I love a good execution one of Zechariah’s soldiers said. He unlocked the gate that kept them prisoner. Grab the woman first one of the cruel evil guards said. Marian had been behind Guy for most of the time. She stepped out of the gate Guy took a glance at her when all the sudden the gate was shut on him. What are you doing? Guy said. Open this gate now. Guy demanded. Sorry lover boy leaders orders. Marian was taken out of the dungeons with gruff men pushing her every step of the way. When they had stopped at the sheriffs Hall. Release her a voice had said coming from behind her. It was Guy. She was shocked ten minutes ago he was down still in the dungeons. It didn’t make sense. Your leader has sent me to carry out his orders now release her. Guy said. Why should we do what you say? Said the soldier that had threw me to the ground earlier. You really want to ask that… Guy said. They both backed away from Marian and threw him the key that opened her shackles. She took a deep breath and silently released it. You two should go to your master and see what he has to say of this. Guy recommended. After they had gone he embraced her with open arms. How did you get out? Marian asked. It is a long story lets just forget about it. Guy said. He put his arms around her and held her as if he would never let go. I will not let anything happen to you Marian you have my word. I have talked with the Sheriff that will not happen again. Guy said with reassurance. I hope so Marian said with a relief. Guy this place is getting stranger and stranger everyday. Marian said. The only thing sure of this place is uncertainty. She also said with a nod of the head. He looked down upon her and chuckled, you humor me in so many ways. This has been an interesting day, Marian said with a grin and laugh. He wants us to go to the Great Hall and meet us personally. Guy informed her. He told me to tell you he is sorry about the way his men were to you. Guy informed her. Well we shouldn’t keep them waiting, or he might change his mind. Marian said. They connected hands and walked down the hall. When they had reached the Great Hall the doors were opened and there as she thought was the guest they had meet before. Only this time they were not forcibly being brought to his feet. Awe they have arrived, and they are still alive. Thanks be to Allah. Zechariah said. He approached them and began to make conversation with Guy. The Sheriff looked down upon them and saw that Marians left side began to seethe blood. Marian took a gasp of pain and fell to the floor. She struggled to take easy breaths. Marian grabbed her side and tried to breath. She was struggling to keep the blood from spilling out. She grasped her side tight with pain. Her mouth was choking just trying to breathe. Guy came to the ground and saw her writhing in pain. He could see the blood dripping in her palm. GET HELP Guy yelled.
He picked her up in to his arms and stood quickly. He had laid her head on to his chest. Her cheek pressed to his chest. She grasped his black leather long sleeve shirt. She squeezed it hard and began to breath in easier and breathed out with a painful cry. Zechariah yelled get a physician now. Guy had run out of the Great Hall but at that moment in Marian’s vision went black. She closed her eyes and rested UN consciously in his arms. Zechariah asked both of the guards if they had anything to do with this. One admitted. He came forward and said when they gave her glass of water to drink they put in a knock at chemical but Zechariah asked him what was the excuse of the bleeding. They got her to her guest room and laid her on her bed. She was still breathing but heavily in pain. The guard said that if there was a sensitive spot or a wound in her body that was capable in bleeding hard. That would be the excuse for the blood and pain he informed. They told Guy the side affects were only supposed to be a black out. They didn’t think that it would become this extreme. Guy stood up to the soldier and punched him. The soldier yelped and his nose was dripping blood. Do you think this is funny Guy asked. The other soldier looked at what happened to the other soldier and made sure that would not happen to him. Sorry Sir we did not think you had something for the lady we wanted some entertainment. The unnamed soldier said. Zechariah spoke up and said I have a medicine that will get her awake but she will need to keep off her feet for a while. She will not die but she has to be calm when I give it to her other wise it might cause more damage. I will give it to her in an hour or two. I need you to stay with her incase she wakes up. Zechariah said. Till then Guy said. The sheriff was needed and did not hear of what had happened, He didn’t really care. All of them had left except Guy he was on his knees knelling by Marian’s bed. He took hold of her hand and pressed it to his forehead. He then kissed her pale white hand. She had been asleep the whole time. He had fallen asleep with in the first hour. His head was rested on the middle of her bed. His hand still holding on to hers he drifted off into a tired phase. After another hour in half she awoke slowly. She saw Guy asleep. She began to open her eyes and look around. When Guy had felt the movement he quickly awoke. He looked up at her as she asked what had happened to her. She grasped her side again. This time it did not start to bleed. He moved to the side of the bed where her head was and looked into her eyes. He began to gently stroke her hair. The important thing is that you are going to be all right. Guy said with relief. At that moment Zechariah came in. Aw she is awake we can give her the treatment now. Zechariah said with a cheery voice. Marian looked back at Guy with a frightened face. What treatment she asked. Miss I want to help you I don’t want to harm you please trust me. Zechariah said. She looked back to Guy and looked at him with a questioned face. Hold on a minute I don’t need anything I am fine. Marian protested. I do not even know what happened and your saying that I need treatment. Marian said. There was a rush to the door. She began to talk fast and shake. Zechariah went to her and put a cloth of her nose when she had taken a breath she had become unconscious again. Marian fell back and Guy caught her in his arms. What did you do that for? Guy asked. She needs to be calm when I give her the treatment. He left the room and Guy new that Marian would not trust a stranger. What made it even more difficult was what had happened that day. Shell be fine, she is strong. Guy told himself in his head. He had left the room and Marian sat there in the silent room as she drifted into her deep sleep. After a few minutes Marian had woken from her slumber. She stepped to her feet. She silently and slowly got out the door. She went out the door and silently went to the barn. She grabbed her beautiful horse and left with the sound of only horse hooves. She went into the forest. She rode to the outlaws’ camp. It was almost nightfall when she had made it to her destination. Robin and the outlaws had just sat down to eat super. She was still weak from what had happened earlier and sat down on one of the outlaws cots as soon as she reached the inside of the camp. Robin saw her and hurried over to her. Are you feeling all right Marian? Robin asked. I have been better, but do you now of a guest at the castle? Well he is not from England he looks as if he comes from the east Marian said with a struggle. Are you sure your alright Robin said? Do you have any water? Marian asked him. He reached over to the side of the bed ledge and grabbed a canteen. He placed it in Marian’s hand and looked at her. She pressed it to her lips and felt the cool and thirst relieving liquid flow down her throat. She took a deep breath in and looked back at him. Thank you I needed that Marian said with a sigh of relief. Well I haven’t exactly had the waking moment to figure out more about this stranger but all I know is that he must have money. Marian said. Its getting dark I should really go, I m sorry I haven’t been able to come to the forest in awhile I’ve been busy. Marian apologized. Take care of yourself. Robin said. Allan gave her the reins to her horse. She was mounted up on her horse and nodded goodbye. She was off into the night. The moonlight showed through her soft curly brown hair. She took in a back entrance to the Castle barn. She was alone in the silence. After she had taken the saddle of her horse she stood there quietly. She stroked the hair of her beautiful white horse. She coaxed him and nuzzled his head. She closed the barn door and silently creped up to her room. She was just about to the hallway that let to her room when she heard footsteps. Through the torches she could see Guy. She didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t let him find that she was gone. There was a sudden call it was a guard. He came to Guy and began to walk the other direction while talking to him. She smiled. She quietly reached for the door on her handle. The door creaked as she shut it. She had seen the room as she had found it earlier. She came to her bed and sat down. She took a moment to relax. There was a sound of footsteps approaching her door. She knew it was Guy. He had opened the door to finding her stitching and sitting on her bed. He came closer to her and sat down beside her. She looked up at him and smiled. Guy smiled as well and said looks like you are doing better. You frightened me earlier Guy said. I am feeling much better I think I just needed the rest. Marian said. Well banquets just about to begin Marian are you up for it. Guy asked. I believe so she said. I will be down shortly. Marian said. Guy reached over and kissed her rosie red lips and slowly stood and began to exit. After he had shut the door behind him she grabbed one of her finest outfits. She went to her mirror and took the pins that held her hair up. The long dark curly brown hair fell to her back. She put a necklace around her neck. This was a special piece that Guy had given her. She took a moment to think over what had happened that bizarre day. When she had reached the Great Hall Guy then greeted her. Then he clinched arms with her. She looked down upon the people stuffing their faces with all varieties of food. I actually have somewhere else we are going, unless you would like to stay her. Guy informed. What? Marian said. Ill take that as a yes Guy assumed. The horses are out front, shall we? Guy asked her. They had reached the destination Guy had informed her about. She looked at it and knew it was familiar. Only there was a beautiful arch covered with beautiful wild flowers. Under it was a bench that was sided with curved arms on each side. She dismounted and tied her horse to the nearest sturdy tree branch. She came nearer to the arch as she examined it she smiled. Guy had approached her side and nuzzled her head to his chest. Do you like it? Guy asked. It’s beautiful. Where on earth did you get the idea? Marian asked in an astonished voice. When we were here before and you told me about the flowers in the field. I wanted to also give you a gift to remind you of this field in Huntington. I hope you like it. Guy said. . Guy it’s fascinating. This why you brought me here isn’t it Marian said with awareness. To help you actually have a moment of peace. I promise things will get better the sheriff is going on a business trip only thing is that I am not to go with him. Guy said. That will give me time to straighten things up. Guys said. What about taking a break about catching your breath. Marian suggested. You always seem to never take a break. Marian said. Pull back on the reins for once. Marian. Wouldn’t that be nice Guy said sarcastically. Can you tell me something Marian? Guy asked. What did you have in mind? I asked. Tell me how you and Robin seem to see each other like you use to before he left for the Holy Land. Guy said. Well, we looked from the pass started somewhere else. I new him for what seemed forever before he left. Now he is dead to me. Guy do you think I have feelings for him? I asked. Well the sheriff things you are not in full pace with him. Do you know what I mean? Guy said. Guy you don’t understand if some one left you someone you cared about how would you have taken the situation. I am not saying that I hate him I’m saying that I don’t want to be hurt like that again from him and I don’t want anything to do with him. I moved from my past and started new. You wouldn’t understand. I really have to go. Marian dashed off into the night path and ran to her horse and galloped away. Guy ran after her but was to late when he had gotten to his horse she was long gone. Marian went in her room and sat in the dim candlelight. She was talking to her self in a stressed tone. I can’t believe the nerve of him. Thinking that he can just pop these things on me like I have every answer in the world. Marian was soon in company. Robin had come through her bedroom window. Well you sound like you haven’t had an easy day. Robin said behind her. I turned around quickly and approached him. When are any of my days easy, I replied? Well I heard about what happened to you at the castle Sarah told me. She is very worried about you, Robin said. There is no need to in a few days ill be as good as new. I informed him. You seem pretty upset, did Gisborne say something why you were at Huntington? Robin asked me. How did you know I was at Huntington? Were you following me Robin? I asked in anger. Cant you stick to your own-outlawed life instead of trying to get into my business? I again questioned him. I wanted to make sure you were all right after what had happened at the castle. Robin informed her. I came to make sure you were all right, when I saw you earlier you looked like you were in harsh pain. That’s why I brought you some pain killing medicine. Robin handed the medicine her hand. I looked up at him and thanked him. Just mix it in something you drink it will work trust me, Robin said with reassurance. I am guessing you are also here for some information about the man at the castle as well, I said. All I know is that he is from the east and is making money deal with the sheriff. Also he is experimenting some kind of poison, that’s why I have to use your gift. I said with a sigh. You have to hurry and get in there before somebody else gets hurt and knock out any guards that are his. That would be pay back for what they did to me. I said with laugh. You should get some rest the medicine will make you extremely drowsy so I would sleep in tomorrow if I were you. Robin told me. He quickly exited where he entered. I went down stairs and poured a glass of water and opened the bottle of the medicine. I began to pour it in when I was interrupted. The figure was not some one I recognized. At that moment a strong wind came into the room and the bright candles that flickered had been blown out. I stood there in the dark frighten. I could feel my heart beat faster. My father was not home it was me and the stranger in the dark filtered room. I caught a hold of my self and spoke up these words. Who are you? There was not reply. What do you want? Answer me coward I said angrily. His mouth began to move and words began to come out. Do you know Sir Guy of Gisborne? The stranger asked. Why? I don’t want things to get ugly so just answer me do you or do you not know him? First you answer me a question. Who are you and why are you here? Well missy that was to questions but ill be happy to answer them. I am a friend of Guy and I need his help. Can you direct me to where he lives? The stranger asked again. How do I know I can trust you? I spoke up. I came closer to him and saw that he was a man that looked to be a few years older then Guy. He had with a short amount of hair on his face but a wide range amount of red hair that covered his head. His eyes were an emerald green color and he looked as if he had a friendly face. You wont hurt him right? I asked him. Please my dear I wouldn’t dream of it. Why did you come to me instead of the sheriff? I was told to come directly to you and I have no idea why. Are you his wife? The stranger asked. No but he and I are very good friends. I corrected him. Do you have your own horse? I asked him hoping he would. Yes how else do you think I got here? Can it wait or are you in urgency to see him? I asked quietly. I need to see him right away and would you hurry up already. The stranger said with annoyance. Well excuse me I wasn’t planning on your arrival. I ran to the barn and tacked my horse up. I could tell she was tired, but I knew she could make this ride. It wasn’t to long when I mounted and was at the porch I saw the stranger ready as I was. I walked my horse over to his and whispered might I know your name before we go? Its Aaron and yours is he answered then asked. By then I had already began to trot my horse forward he then followed then I went into a gallop he responded by doing as I did. The wind was like ice and my hands began to go nub on the reins. I could see my breath every time I breathed out. It seemed to take forever before I reached Locksley village. The villagers were getting ready to hit the sac. I was also ready but because of this little interruption I couldn’t. I began to feel drowsy I then remembered I had taken the antidote that Robin gave me. I soon got off that subject and began to think of what I would say to Guy. I kind of just left. Hopefully he would have forgotten that. When I had finally reached the manor I quickly dismounted and saw Aaron approach the manor as well. When he had come over to me I told him to come in and wait for him in the fireplace room. When I had gotten in Thornton the main manservant came to me. Lady Marian what are you doing here so late? Thornton asked. I need to see Guy there is a man who needs Guy’s help he came to Knighton and had me show him the way here. I need you to hurry I have had just about enough of this guest of his. He about scared the senses out of me he is waiting for Guy in the fireplace room. I told him as I took a breath. Go and make yourself at home Ill go and get him for you. Thornton said with a kind and reassuring voice. Thank you, I said with a sigh of relief. I went to the parlor I wanted to be as far away from Aaron as I could from him I still did not trust him. I then caught a sense of courage and began to walk towards the fireplace room. I crept by the door to have a look at what Aaron was doing. He was pacing back and forth. He looked as if he was in a panic mode. I then entered and saw him on the other side of the room doing as he was before. I heard footsteps approaching the doorway. I knew it was Guy. He was in the doorway when he saw me and looked and me and tilted his head in a puzzled position. Are you all right Marian you look as if you are out of breath? Guy asked me with concern. I looked at Aaron and then looked back to Guy. It seems you have a visitor that needed my help in order to speak with you. I informed him. Guy looked across the room and saw Aaron who had stopped pacing and set eyes on Guy looked at him for a few moments. Why are you here? Guy asked Aaron. He had walked past me and approached Aaron. You do not recognize me do you? Aaron said with a huge amount of sarcasm. Of course I know who you are Guy said in a stern voice. Aaron backed away from Guy. Can one of you tell me what is going on? I asked in confusion. Aaron looked over at me and began to walk towards me. When he reached me he began to walk repeated circles around me. When you said you were a friend of Guy were you lying to me? I asked as he kept slowly walking the same pattern. Well we use to be great friends until we had an incident. Aaron said stopping and looking at Guy. You tried to sabotage our mission when we were in training. You killed so many innocent lives that day. Guy said through his teeth. That was the only way in order for me to get higher up. Aaron barked back. The careless killing corruption that was what the title of it was. I remember my friend died in that incident, Marian said with remembrance. You still haven’t answered my question Guy reminded him. I am here for your help in order to fulfill a request from our old master. Aaron answered. Well tell James that I will have nothing further more to do with you and the rest of your group. Count me out Guy replied. You are going to regret that Guy, you will, Aaron said. He then looked back at me. Your friend here took an anecdote before she arrived. Aaron informed Guy. What is wrong with here? Aaron asked Guy. There is nothing wrong with me for your information. It was a sleeping liquid that will keep me from hurting and will help me rest. I informed him. I was about take some of it until you showed up randomly telling me things would get ugly if I didn’t cur operate. You asked me if I knew Guy and before I told you I asked you why you wanted to know. Then you lied to me and told me he was your friend and that you needed him. I also remember telling me you would not hurt him I told from my memory. I said. Marian nobody can trust him he can’t even trust himself. Is that why you came here to see if I would take you back in? Guy asked. He chuckled you have always been the one who was none for doing something stupid. Guy said then came over to him and said get out of my sight your nothing but a common idiot trying to find some one to run to. Guy said with intimidation. Aaron then shoved Guy out of his way. Guy responded by punching him in the face. I looked back at Aaron seeing that his face was starting to swell up and looked back at Guy who began to walk towards him ready to do it again. They looked at each other in anger until I stepped between them. I don’t know what had come over me of coming between to men who looked as if they were about to kill each other. Stop this now. I said looking at each of them. You are acting like you would in the past. I looked up at Aaron and said the woman you killed on that day was not only your half sister she was my closets friend. I said to him, as I looked with anger deep in his eyes. Guy had backed off but Aaron looked at me in rage. He began to come even closer to me Guy walked up behind me and squeezed my hand letting me know he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. I recognized you when you dismounted the reason I didn’t tell I recognized you or my name is because I wanted to know what else had gone on that day. I knew you would remember me some how even though it has been a long time. I told him. You went in without thinking and you put a sword through her not knowing she was your sister. You didn’t see that it was her, all she ever did to you was love you and apparently in your actions you didn’t love her, I said. I wouldn’t be able to live with my self if I were you. When they told me she was dead I knew you had done it because you left the sword in her. You were in such a hurry to get out that you left your on weapon in your sisters stomach. They didn’t bother to pull it out until it reached your fathers house and when I saw the sword I saw your name engraved on the handle. I informed him. I didn’t want any one else to find out so I hid it. Not knowing that you would come back as if you never killed her. I informed him. As I said before get out before I show you the way out Guy said. Oh and don’t think of coming near her again ill have you killed before you even get with in and inch of her. Guy threatened. Aaron exited the scene and left Guy and me in the room. I turned around to see His worried face. Marian you look pail, are you sure you are all right? Guy asked once again. The real question is, are you all right? I asked. I had a few of my men follow him he will not be a problem to us anymore I promise. Guy said. I forgot about him for a very long time, but I never forgot the damage he caused. Guy said. I didn’t know that you new Margaret, Guy said. Maggie and I were always with each other when we were girls. I said with a small grin then looked down. Aaron I didn’t exactly know I just knew he was related to Maggie. I told him. I didn’t exactly expect him to show his face here, and I didn’t expect him to come with sorrow of what he had done. He never took control of his action. Maggie told me that a lot before she died I said. She was worried for him and how this would affect his life. Well that was a long time ago but it seems to stay in your mind forever Guy said with a tone of sorrow. I looked up into his blue and gray eyes and put my hand on his cheek. He looked at me and seemed to gaze in my eyes. That hasn’t stopped me from living my life and it never will. I told him with reassurance. You seem to know all the right things to say at times like these Guy said. Maybe it is because I have been through many situations such as that I find it’s easier to forget they ever happened then to hold on to them in your mind. I then began to see shapes and loose my eye site. I felt very faint and groggy. I began to loose balance. I then stumbled and grabbed hold of his arm in order to keep standing. Guy looked down at her as he grasped her elbows to help her level. He then began to talk to himself. That drug you took must be in affect he said assuming that was the case. I let go of his hands and stood there on my own for only a moment until I fell into his arms. I rested my head on his chest. I then asked him why do I feel like I am about to plummet into a slumber? It’s the anecdote you took it seems to have started its affect Guy informed her. I can’t remember taking it though I said softly. Aaron was right about you having it though. I said. Hush its time you get some rest Guy prescribed her. By the time he had finished his sentence her eyes had already closed and her slumber had just begun. He then picked her up in his arms and carried her to the couch. He silently and gently set her down on it. Her head was rested on the arm and her feet on the other arm. He bent over and kissed her head and ran his fingers through her hair. Thornton then came in and saw his master. Guy came to Thornton telling him of the medicine she had taken earlier. Thornton nodded his head and went about his duties. As for Guy he stood there in the candle lit room and watched her sleep. He quietly slipped out of the room and up the stairs he went to his bedchamber to fetch a blanket. He then retreated to the room where Marian laid her head to rest. He approached the back of the couch and looked over her. He then unfolded the blanket and covered her with it. He then came to the front of the couch took one more look then headed back up the stairs to rest himself. I woke up to the surroundings of a whole different house. I couldn’t remember anything that happened. I awoke confused and half opened eyes. I finally recognized where I was when I started to remember what happened last night. Aaron’s visit here caused corruption and then she remembers sleeping. She had gotten up and it was the break of dawn. She quietly slipped through the main entrance and headed for the barn. Shockingly I went to the stall my horse was in and saw that Guys horse was still there. It shocked me because there was no sign of him at the manor and where would he go with out his horse to transport him it made no sense. I saw my horse in the stable beside his. She was filling her face full with oats and hay. I saw my tack hanging on the stall door. I went in and began to put her saddle blanket on when Allan came in the barn door. He had become Guys right hand man when he betrayed Robin. He was surprised to see me. He came over to my stall and rested his arm on the stall door. Boss know your hear? He asked me in a sarcastic voice. Yes he does and I was actually wondering where your boss was. I informed him. He still is at the manor, didn’t you see him this morning? Allan said with a wondering grin. No I haven’t seen him all morning. I re directed him. Well I should be on my way; I don’t want any more surprises for a while. I lead my horse out of the barn and then mounted her. Ill make sure he knows your alright Allan said. A thanks but there’s no need he’ll know where I am. I reassured him. If you say so I guess ill let you go then. Allen said with a small smile. I nodded and mounted my horse. I had my horse walk out of the stables and into the morning sunshine. I kicked my horse’s flanks and she went into a canter. I headed for the north and wanted to ride until the sun was gone and the moon was up. I loved riding up to the north, even though it was a bit colder I loved it. I seemed to fly like the wind easy and breeze whizzing threw my morning mess hair. I wondered what would become of my life then and what would become of it in the near future. I always liked it when life surprised me in a good way even though I didn’t like surprises in general. I rode into the trees and found a ray of light seeming to gleam like an angel I wanted to get a closer to look at it. I loved it when I came upon these mysterious sittings.
