I shouldn't complain because I actually love cold weather and snow. It actually snowed here in NC on Christmas day. The last time it snowed on Christmas I was 17. So I wake up this morning and here it is again!!! No work, no school, no nothing!!!!  AND it's still snowing.

This is the view from my front door. Not too bad. But there calling for more ( Read more... )

I also love cold weather and snow !
Here, we also had lots of snow in december, but that was pretty soon for our winter, usually we have more snow in february, which make me afraid about this trip, like you !!!!!

When you refer to the bloody mess that has been in Paris airports, I cross all the fingers I can !
Without talking about the famous NY Winters and ice storms !!!
Did you see Renee's last entry ?!... It's impressive !

Thanks for sharing this, Suzanne !!!
Ha ha !!! Your Sadie looks really miserable, trying to keep his paws out of this cold thing ! XD

(Sadie... Like The Marquis ?! LOL !)

Yeah, I'm a mountain girl originally, so I love the cold!

I wasn't sure if you guys got a lot of snow in France but it sounds like you do. And yes, I saw Renee's entry and heard on the news their supposed to get another big storm!!!

"(Sadie... Like The Marquis ?! LOL !)"

LOL, I hadn't thought of that!

Even if I'm a mediterranean girl, I prefer cold to heat ! ;)

You bet we had lots of snow !!! Gosh ! Some villages have been literally cut from the rest of the world during 3 days !
In my own village, we had between 10 to 12 inches of snow ! That was quite fabulous... but alas, we had to go to work for all the same... and at work, it was insane, because lots of teachers and pupils weren't here, of course ! So, we had just to look after the kids who were there, the best we could during our 10 hours of work... Crazy !
But of course, that was much less terrific than these current floods in the Queensland ! :/

Love the pics!!! I can't imagine having a yard full of snow like that. And Sadie - what a cutie! My baby girl Harriet hates having to go outside to pee when it's too cold, or too hot as it was today- really humid and sticky.

She's such a pampered little bitch (I say that lovingly... heh... sometimes!) all she likes to do is curl up and sleep all day under the AC. I don't blame her actually... at least this past week has stayed well under 30 degrees (85 f)!... but my room happens to be upstairs and right down the end and it tends to get the most sun so it heats up and tends to stay too hot for me to sleep unless I keep my AC on all night. lol. I can never sleep in summer it seems - I prefer cold nights because you can curl up with a million blankets and the electric blanket turned up to high and it's cozy, but summer nights when it doesn't cool down much are yuuuuckk!

I hope the snow is all gone in NYC by the time the Rushies get there!

"And Sadie - what a cutie!"

Thanks! She's and old dog, around 12 and she has to be forced to go outside in the cold also. She'll hold it in all day if you don't.

"but my room happens to be upstairs and right down the end and it tends to get the most sun so it heats up and tends to stay too hot for me to sleep"

I have the exact same problem!!! I hate it. My room is the hottest in the house and in the summer it's miserable!! We have central air for the whole house but this summer I'm buying a window unit!!!! I much prefer cold to hot!

And NYC in Feb. is scary!!!!!

This house has 5 split system (reverse cycle ACs - not sure what they generally refer to them as over there as) in different rooms... lol it only had 2 when we moved in but we kept adding them because it was too hot without them in each bedroom. But yeah the ones in the wall not the window that are both heater and cooler. Old house used to have central heating and ducted air-con but that kind of air-conditioning doesn't really work for an Aussie summer generally, particularly if it's humid! On extremely hot days ya really can't survive without refrigerated air conditioning - the other just isn't strong enough. I don't know how people survive with just fans though, I mean, it is very expensive to fit out a whole house with individual split system ACs, but god it's worth it to be able to set it at whatever temp you want and it actually stay at that temp ( ... )
