Thumbelina isn't a Disney film. It's by Don Bluth productions, who were founded by 11 animators who left Disney because they thought they were producing crap. Little Mermaid is awesome, as is Sleeping Beauty. I'm working my way through the classics :-)
Wow, I totally didn't realise that. Always assumed it was cause of the art.
On further inspection I realise who Don Bluth is now. He's certainly been behind a lot of the classics hasen't he? The fact that you can tie his name to The Rescuers certainly makes me happy. That was one of my faves. I love the controversy surrounding the 1 frame of nude woman as well. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rescuers#Controversy
Yeah, I've seen it. There's millions of things like that in cartoons. Like the penis on the front of the Little Mermaid DVD and the priest with the erection, and the Beast's tattoo from Beauty and the Beat. Story goes that the animators slipped a lot of them in when they thought the films were crap, before they left. DB was Disney's main rival in the 80's but hasn't been quite as successful; he wanted to bring cartoons back to the Disney Renaissance, basically. Good stuff. Anastaisia is another classic that's not made by Disney, you should check it out.
