I didn't do my Thanksgiving list of things I'm thankful for last year (whoops!), and though this year is almost over, I'm still gonna do it - better late than never! :) I first did a list in
2007 - feels so long ago now!
The 5 serious things I'm thankful for...
1. Lovely family and friends!
2. Though I've had an
icky last half of the year, 2011's end sees the start of a "new normal" for me. The new - daily injections (which have gone flawlessly since I started Dec. 16!), the diagnosis of MS itself, getting used to all of that - will eventually become my normal. It's all fresh at the moment, but time heals all, as they say. :) So I'm thankful that, though it's not great to actually have all this going on, it's going as well as it is. Also - I'm thankful for great doctors, nurses, and health peeps.
3. Continuing to enjoy classes - and I'm more at ease with the fact that I'm taking school slow. It's what works for me, and that's fine! :)
4. The lil' bro had a fantastic first semester - in college! He took a few classes at Montgomery College this fall, and will be starting at UMD in the spring. So happy that he's doing wonderfully with the high school-to-college transition!
5. UMD again - I gotta note my thankfulness for the wonderful advisors, professors, and more who have made attending UMD such a great experience. This year was no exception, and I even got a chance to work with the lovely History department this summer as a student worker. Nothing but good times. :)
The 5 not so serious things I'm thankful for...
6. Music, aw yeah. I think I listened to and fell in love with more new releases this year than I have in years past.
7. Internets!
8. Verizon FiOS! Whoever does the programming for the Starz channels gets all my thanks, because they've run a ton of Robert Redford movies this year.
9. Uh, most of the not so serious things I'm thankful for are on the internet. So...
10. Internets again!
Hope everyone's having a fab holiday season! :)
