I've just been looking at the pictures on the website and am now drooling. I'm sooo glad my diet's nearly over, I really need some pastry :)

Where can you get cake at 12:30 in the morning in Nottingham? Has the cafe culture finally arrived?

Unfortunately not. It was from one of the shops on Mansfield road, they apparently stay open late to cater for drunks, but not for discerning cake lovers it seems.

It was lovely seeing you last night hun, Cake not too good hmmmm? I think there may be a pattern with the whole diet and foods you used to be able to eat LOADS of, I ate some salt and vinegar crisps at work on friday (first time in absoulutly aaages) and felt seriously ill for about 5hrs after, my mouth went all furry too, it was a bit odd! Glad your feeling better though!

Bless you, the crisp thing sounds nasty. It's quite scary isn't it that things you might eat every day can do that to you. However, in spite of all that moaning about the evils of cake, I was back eating it by Sunday, although I must stress it was a much higher class of cake and was eaten in moderation rather than drunkenly cramming it into my mouth.
