Ooh, I might have a look. I'd probably be more inclined to stick with it if I was paying. I did think about joining a local irl group but I think it's on Wednesday nights when I'm working so online only could be a good solution.

I'm sure there is a goth dieting LJ community somewhere. Otherwise Laurel_mcjobo is the dieting guru and you can never fail by chatting to her :)

After a visit to a nutritionist... ediefienduk March 8 2007, 22:06:39 UTC
I lost about 10kgs by cutting out fried food, red meat, cakes (sorry), pastries, tv-dinners and all take-away food. Food like pizza (again sorry) is deadly for cholesterol levels.

I am also eating 6 small meals/day with a lot of fruit and veg and work out about 3 times/week and play squash once a week with cycling on the weekend.

It sounds like a lot of effort but then again I am way older (slowed down metabolism, hormonal issues etc) than you ;-) so you most probably don't have to go to these extremes:-D.

The thing to remember is that your body needs food every 3 hours after waking up. If you don't eat regularly it goes into "stress mode", which is followed by a surge of adrenaline resulting in fat around the stomach if you starve your body over prolonged periods.

The more regular you eat the more weight you will loose. But you have to eat the right things e.g. fruit, handful of nuts etc. Breakfast is essential with oats being the best.

Good luck!

>I usually have mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks of fruit, but I could probably do with eating nuts a bit more so thanks for the suggestion.

A handful only of nuts will ensure that you get the correct amount of good fats ( ... )

If you don't find a good community, maybe you, me, Liv and Helen could set up our own? Easy and cheap!

I have started the community! It wouldn't let me call it seeds_are_your_friends so I've called it seedsryrfriends. I hope you like it! I am particularly proud of the user icon.
