These two questions have been bothering me since I moved to good ol' NC

I cringe EVERY TIME someone misspells y'all! *shudders* . . . even southerns don't know how to spell it *grr*. "You all" become "y'all"! No one spells do not as d'ont!1!1! same thing. *sigh*
