Yep, I've had that happen too - like others have said, it was a problem with the connection. Unfortunately, I didn't have a warranty, and it cost $220 to fix each time. I asked the guy, and he'd said it was from force - so, yeah, tripping over the cord and things. Bloody horrible.
I'm afraid you could be right. I think a trip to the service center is in order but, woe, that means no laptop for several weeks. It may be time to invest in that netbook I've had my eye on....
I'm hoping it's something that simple. I've ordered a new cord but may end up sending the old beast in for a diagnostic anyway while it's still under contract.

Doing it while it while it is still under contract is very good idea.
I have not had notice of a PM *stoopid LJ* I'd have probably thought to pimp it at the weekend (when it's my turn to post the new challenge) but there's nothing stopping me going and doing it now.

And yeah, getting things checked out now while someone else is paying for repairs seems like the smart way to go.
