I just popped over to doctoreleven for the first time in ages. At first I was cheered by the apparent increase in content over "dat ass" posts (not that I mind a good "dat ass" post every now and again but really...) but it didn't take more than two clicks to find the first Ten/Rose comment which pretty much devolved into "Rose has ruined fandom ( Read more... )

I had a look myself out of curiosity, and blegh the main complaint seemed to be that the Rose fandom is too large and Ten/Rose fic is too active in comparison to the fic they want to see produced. But as long as people aren't forcing you to read the fic, then what's the issue?

I got sick of Who fandom a while ago and drifted away because of attitudes like that, I will never understand how it was just Rose fans that earned the batchip label when the entire fandom seems pretty ridiculous and entitled most of the time

I was over the whole thing ages ago and I honestly do not care at this point who did what to whom. I would, however, like to enjoy the new series without people endlessly bitching/rehashing something that was so yesterday.

For real, DT and BP have left the show now, people! The Ten/Rose fans will be off in their own little corner anyway, so just enjoy the series you are going to get with Moffat sheesh

No doubt there will soon be ship wank over the new doctor and companion team though...

Ship Wank? In Who fandom?

*shock*

*g*

I guess it is inevitable. Team Doctor/Amy will throw down against Team Amy/Rory. I wonder if any of them will sparkle? They are all so young and cute and probably still have that new car smell.

Can we move on now?
Ha! (Didn't Buffy teach you anything? [Some] Fans. Are. Stupid. And. Never. Move. On.)

ETA: To be fair, there's very, very little Ten/Rose bashing going on, and they're generally good about policing. It's just one of the few places where they can go and not have to worry about anyone going 'Ten was the best doctar evar and everything is *wrong* nao :('

So... yeah, moving on is tricky.

ETA2: You've seen The 45 deaths of Doctor Who, right?

Only that Buffy isn't bad, she's just drawn that way. ;)

Maybe I just hit the wrong post on the wrong day but it brought back aggravating memories of modding lifeonmartha during its heyday. Everyone said they wanted to talk about how awesome Martha was but a huge percentage of time was spent bitching about Rose, Doctor/Rose, Rosefen, etc. Talk about taking the wind out of your *own* sail!

Then again, it is Whofandom where one of its pillars seems to be that in order to love A you must despise B.

And thanks for the link! I hadn't seen it and it's brilliant!

It's not Buffy, it's an ugly clone... (You've heard the latest developments, right? *tries to bleach brain*)

Indeed. But as I said, they're generally good. I remember a few months ago when Billie Piper was on Jonathan Ross, and she was asked who was the best kisser, David or Matt (having kissed both), and she went with David. This caused a 'WHY did she say that, people are anti-Matt enough as it is! ARGH! Grumblegrumblegrumble' post [by one of the mods] - which was then deleted, apologised for and an AWESOME multi-Doctor picspam posted in contrition. (I'd link you to the post, but it's flocked. ETA: This is the introduction: AS WAS SO RIGHTLY POINTED OUT DURING THE BAD TIMES OF YESTERDAY, WE'RE HERE FOR THE DOCTOR, IN ALL HIS GLORIOUS, SEXY, BADASS, GQ MUTHA FUCKA, BITCHIN', AWESOME FORMS.) Anyway - after that I decided that I rather liked the place. :)

THIS. Going back to the classic series. Ask me sometime how people react to finding out that Seventh Doctor / Ace is my favorite era from the Classic series when they are Pertwee fans...

*eyerolls* You would think by now we would have figured out that our fandom is dimensionally transcendental...

Dude, you soooo owe me an email!

Yes, White Collar is all shiny and new, and everyone loves it and nobody's had time to divide off into factions or come up with reasons to hate each other. It's awesome!

Always.

Han would not approved of eternal optimism. ;)
