And then has the gall to say that people only focus on the negatives of Nixon's career?
I mean, I agree that Nixon did some good things, and I know he did some bad thigns. But if an arsonist starts a fire, and then saves a kitten from the flames, do you call him a hero?
I know what you mean, but "Watergate" took on such a huge meaning, that Nixon's name, after his cover-up, couldn't help but become synonymous with corruption and scandal.
What's fucked up is that nobody who didn't live through it has no idea who Haldeman is, or, G. Gordan Liddy, or what exactly Nixon did wrong.
Maybe he'll get a better fate as time goes on. As people who hated him fade away, his presidency will be looked at objectively.
But obstructing justice, perjury, and basic deceivery? Not cool. In that respect, I suppose Clinton can be analogous.
